  • Hard News: Friday Visions, in reply to Jackie Clark,

    I have to say.

    Another YMMV moment. Fair enough.

    ETA:

Introduce your children to your music

The best success we've had is the Juno soundtrack. Kimya Dawson is great for car trip singalongs, and the joy that a family of five can get from the singing in unison of the lines; 'Fuck Bush and fuck this war' is almost limitless.

  • Hard News: Friday Visions, in reply to Jackie Clark,

I have never heard of her. Thank you.

Welcome. But you have heard of her more famous band Everything But the Girl, right? That's Ok if not, it's just, umm, if it was up to me, they would be compulsory.

  • Hard News: Friday Visions, in reply to Russell Brown,

I used to see Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn around quite a bit when I worked in the West End.

I think now I'd just walk up and say 'I think we might have similar taste in music, can I buy you a drink?' Well, I'd like to think I would.

This has always been one of my favourites, and I still play it on Vinyl quite often. Seems appropriate since it's independent Record Store day tomorrow and Vinyl is the new black.

If I was a DJ I'd say 'this one's for Jackie'.

    Everything.

I'm hardly gonna argue with that.

  • Busytown: A new (old) sensation, in reply to giovanni tiso,

I note with some relief that DecorMyEyes no longer shows up high on Google and that the owner was arrested the day after the article was published.

Nice work Gio. So normal transmission can resume and the world as we know it isn't ending. Phew!

I think it's "hyphenated to dicks".

I was thinking of 'MORE tremendous dicks', but that works.

ETA: No I wasn't. Really I wasn't. Oh crap, never mind.

Well, we could agree to disagree, but in the spirit of the thread, we could also argue heatedly about this until we both look like tremendous dicks to everyone else :)

Where should we put the 'more'? Eggnuine question.

Now, I apologise in advance for being long and waffly. I have no problem at all if people want to TL:DR this.

What tosh. Hardly got into first gear.

Now I don't know if there's a prize or you get banned for posting Supertramp, but after reading your post, this sprung into my head.
