As someone pointed out in one of the news shows last night
I still can't quite decide what I think about the quote the same people (I think) had from her, saying she didn't look at the details of what it was being spent on, just decided it was too much money.

it's the change to bail laws that scares me
Another one I'm confused about. Is it just a repeal of Labour's change - which will apparently do little in terms of case law, or will the considerations they are suggesting will apply be written into it?

Yet somehow, in this weird political narrative we've got going, the *Greens* are the crazy unreasonable ones.
Listening to Parliament, it occurred to me that it must surely burn some ACT people to be called anti-science by the Greens.

Here's a pre-election release on the 90 day thing.
I find the "either party may terminate the employment relationship for performance, without a personal grievance claim being brought" thing hilarious. Employees win the right to quit!

Surely this does not affect the application of the law relating to unjustifiable dismissal even in a probationary period?
It's difficult because we haven't seen the bill yet.
It will be limited to enteprises of a certain size and somebody (Collins?) said it would be volunary on both sides, which would make it a not unlike the status quo, I'd have thought.
With Mapp's bill I think they reckoned you still weren't allowed to sack people of bad reasons (eg discrimination) but you could if you just didn't like them.

D&D, Paranoia etc
I'm sure people who didn't know what "RPG" stood for will be much clearer for that explanation.

Probably just 3200 actually, but still...

I was once doing a youth theatre thing - so parents were taking photos - and there was one bit with candles moving behind a white backdrop. I suspect that the ones where people's flashes went off didn't come out too good.
We were at the night zoo in Singapore and the guy driving the tour vehicle has to stop and seriously tell the group off for flashes. Fortunately at an aquarium elsewhere my wife had worked out her new camera resets to having the flash on every time you turn it off, so it wasn't us.
This on a camera that can do the equivalent of 6400asf (or more, I forget), so unless you can't see lack of flash is not really a problem.

...it was not legal to take photographs of the hospital.
In some old buildings etc in Europe they'll tell you you can't take photos because of copyright law.
I understand this to mean "beacause we don't want you to".

Basically, it doesn't bother me, but I am more and more bemused that it doesn't bother me.
