You may wish to refer to this entry on Family Integrity's Section 59 Blog: Anti-Parental-Authority Law Criminalises Loving Father. It actually reads like satire.
And pig-ignorant stuff like that is among the reasons why Family First has disassociated themselves with the Family Integrity lot.Ha! Russell did you know that?
But, out of interest, do we accept McAuley's friends' and family's right to be upset and offended at Rankin's appointment? Or should they simply STFU? Genuine question for everyone.

Rankin then reads her own statement denying any affair, and declines to answer further questions, including one about twin suicide notes left for her and Kim.
I'm assuming you agree that she was *right* to decline to answer the questions put to her. After all it was Rankin who agreed to go on the programme and it is good to see her stand her ground. And if the HoS etc hadn't written those articles in attempts to cast doubt on Rankin's ability to be a commissioner -which is the only motive for writing them that I can see - she would never had to front on TV in the first place.

How do you know that Keir ? She hasn't even started it yet. You tend to put commas and full stops in the wrong places, but that doesn't mean you should stop writing comments.

I have met Rankin, although that doesn't mean much I know, I am aware of some of her work. Of course you're politically biased, not knowing some of the other stuff she does and has done. But really, rather than stating that Rankin is a problem, without even evaluating whether she can do the job or not, surely you would agree that the tabloid journalism of today - as I outline on my blog - is unacceptable, given that you have said Rankins marriage is not the problem. If so, why don't you criticise that with equal measure? -
What l find quite strange is that the picture of McCauley in the HOS is the same pic as in her online Tribute book ( no I'm not going to link it - find it yourself) . I wonder if the HOS flogged the pic from that page? If so the pics were hardly "supplied".

I'm not convinced the " family " did have much to say. The anonymous HOS comments from the friend could well have been from someone on Tommy's staff. But suffice to say I thought the HOS story was pretty odd. Firstly they spelled Heptinstall's name wrong, secondly they angled as a story of "close friends and colleagues" being appalled at a marriage, now that Rankin is a Commissioner - and there is no evidence that that the HOS even spoke to a close friend that was not a colleague.
HOS journalist Meng-Yee has made a name for herself writing about rellies of celebrities -as well as using inflammatory angles to her stories, including another one she wrote in today's paper, as I have noted.

Actually, I feel that the news story we're missing at the moment is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.....and Murray McCully knifing NZ Aid and snaffling its budget for his own purpose
No we're not missing it.We're not reporting it. Some journos just need to read the right blogs rather than print one sided opinion pieces from McCully, that's all.
