  • Hard News: Prospects,

    @ Che _ I'm pretty sure you're right.

As the "laws" that allowed Op8 to go a head are the result of Goff & King, and so NZFirst are now redundant.

    Another reason to be happy.

Stephen Franks lost the candidate race for Wellington Central, on the back of a National landslide and winning the Party vote. I guess they just don't like him :)

  • Hard News: Prospects,

I hope Labour put some thought into the future. Goff & King would banrupt NZ if they keep running Op 8 paramilitary actions for a couple of unlicenced rifles.

Brian Connell wiki page says he has gone to live in Brisbane. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Connell
What was that Muldoon quote again...:)

Labour nominated another clanger with Yau in Ilam. Pissing in the wind to start with being Ilam, but it would seem like 1000 of the Labour Party voters split their candidate vote for the Green Party guy.

    Joe:

Yeah that was a bit cryptic on my behalf. Megan Woods is the better candidate for Labour & Christchurch Central.

She stood priviously for Progressives here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christchurch_Central

And did a fine job going for mayor against Sideshow Bob.
    http://archived.ccc.govt.nz/Elections/2007/Results/#Mayor

The 2004 mayoral campaign had a few dirty tricks in it but I'm reluctant to point any fingers with this "Bad Luck" Megan had in 2007

  • Hard News: Prospects,

Time to celebrate the positive, no more NZ First! :)

My theory for the drop off in their support has nothing to do with the scandles, Winston thrives on them. It has everything to do with the cold snap that passed through and so more of his supporters passed off their mortal coils prior to the election.

There should be a bloody great kick up the bum to the Labour Party Central Body who've inflicted Burns on Christchurch Central.
They passed over the best candidate for their Wellington insider and almost lost it.

On the positive again, Marc Alexander (Ex UF now Nats) missed Wigram and can now get back to cooking me some eggs.

Remeber the old adage... Vote early & vote often ;p

Voted at Boys' High Christchurch and although it only had a couple of others voting at the time it was really nice to see parents taking their kids along to show them the process.

Must grumble about the electorate candidates for Ilam as only Gerry had passed our way and I don't know what any of the other candidates look like.

Loved the EMPU clashing with National in the square yestie.

Really? Watching the coverage, there was one woman who really needs to lay off caffeinated beverages. Maximising your face time is one thing, shoving people out of your camera line like a crack-head at the opening of the Harrods' Sale is quite another.

    - The Lady in Red, is really quite nice, if rather enthusiastic.
One of the Nat supporters who like many was rather bemused is a really gentle & nice neigbour.

    - As I'm voting for neither I found it funny & equally happy I wasn't there.

"Are they really going to permanently keep the DNA samples of people found not-guilty of any imprisonable offence? Sweet Jesus."

Christchurch Police are still keeping the lists of Prostitutes they made before it was legal.
