I thought we overthrew fascism in 2008? That's what the Farrar/Boscawen marchers were saying on their placards, anyway. Complete with Helen/Hitler comparisons and such.
But they were saying "fight fascism", not "fight fucking fascism", so that was OK.

In other news, "Greymouth warns the Kaiser ... " ;)

The Herald keeps "updating" (i.e. changing) its online story. Small but significant changes in vocabulary, gradually rowing back. Last one 5 mins ago.
I hope somebody's keeping screenshots or printing hard copies.

Now Brook Sabin on TV3 shows zero understanding of the law, and imagines a police investigation. Such a basic error, you couldn't make it up (but he did).
-
It's not a "revelation". It's an allegation.
It would be good if the Herald knew the difference. It's kind of important.
And of course, it can't be un-proven, by any number of bank statements, or accounts, or anything at all. If it's not there, it must be ... somewhere else.
Proving it is easier, but Mr Liu doesn't seem to want to, and the Herald doesn't seem to care.

Duncan Garner said he was going to give Cameron Brewer the mike (yet again) this afternoon ...

... whereupon, the earthquake happened. Message received, o Lord.

Hard News: Cranks, self-seekers and the mayor, in reply to
3 News duly repeated the 'Brown's bodyguards' spin tonight, as if Brewer had written the script. That's not good journalism, guys, not even close.
-
The protestors (and they're barely plural) are quite useful in one regard. Their banners remind us that the Brown-haters are enraged and outraged by sex, not corruption.
Brown should indeed be challenged on his too close relationship with Sky City, but that will remain in the background as long as the "Band of Brewers" are more interested in his private relationships instead.
I wonder why Cameron Brewer doesn't want to focus more on politicians being too close to corporates like Sky City ...

The Prime Minister hands out free gifts to journalists regularly. They are accepted and (in most cases) not disclosed. That may not be "treating" but it's certainly a matter of public interest, and I'd like to know why the media don't tell us about it.
Because they value the gifts more than their ethics, I suppose.

Whatever Colin Craig may imagine, there is no prospect of any change to the law unless the National MPs who voted for it now intend to reverse their position (and most are still in Parliament). They voted against the Boscawen amendment too - en bloc.
If they no longer support the law they voted for, it would be nice if they could tell us before the election. But if they do support the law they voted for ... well, again it would be nice if they could tell us - and Colin.
