Green Orion Slave Girl? Dare I ask?

I cannot but think of the third guy, alone on the street, singing "I, who have nothing."

It is Jennifer Anniston's 40th today. There will be tears, as I am sure will we learn from the women's weeklies.

I am sure Mr Brown has never done anything with a telephone that violates either its terms of service policy or common decency.

I bought Bishop Berkeley's doormat on TradeMe. It says "there's no place."

Fairfax bought Trademe, presumably because Trademe had destroyed classified advertising and made itself very profitable. If Fairfax is now trying to sell Trademe, then its New Zealand papers cannot be worth very much.

'Carved up' was quite common, when I were a lad.

Chaps,
Jon Knox, you will note, is from The Elephant and Castle, that charming part of South London at the top end of the Old Kent Road. There, being carved up can mean one of two events: that you had encountered one of the picturesque knife-weilding locals at Closing Time; or that you were driving in traffic and someone pulled in front of you, to take a space that rightfully was yours.

Kyle, I was not trying to be helpful. I was merely stating that any man who allows himself to be goaded into assaulting a woman is an idiot. Clearly that is the case: she has manipulated him to commit an offence against her person.
I don't think there is a whole lot of goading going on, in truth. I think this argument is one that is made to excuse violence by men. What troubles me about the likes of Ralston, men who trade on their cartoon blokeyness, is that they are so ready to support male violence, to create false equivalences and to excuse the violent, especially when the perps are their friends.
