I was much more fit and able after the births of my second-born twins, than I was after the birth of my singleton eldest.
if it's any consultation i'm planning to have 2nd chef back to work within 15mins of delivery. will just pour a glucose drink into her and put her on the island bay bus heading back towards lambton queue.
the infant will take a few days to work out the photocopier, so... we won't pay it till then.

but in all seriousness, the women who don't go back to work quickly tend to be those whose childcare costs exceed their potential earnings. or, those in roles where their smarts can't be substituted. governors for example.
