    From the Herald:

The Maori Party is traditionally reluctant to make comments on other countries...

Don't they make comments on other countries all the time? Tariana Turia was on TV yesterday talking about Fiji. Hone Harawira went to Australia and spoke out about the treatment of Aborigines.

  • Up Front: Romeo Smells of Roses,

And because it may come up at some point: You know Stats NZ have a discussion paper on what all those people who don't want to be called "Pakeha" or "NZ European" can tick in the census.

I loved the bit in the Dom Post that said they had removed the previously used "Pakeha" because some people didn't like it, but were searching for a term that captured the meaning of (basically) a white person whose family has living in New Zealand for a long time.

There is a great zombie segment in the special features section of the Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog DVD.

I have borrowed that DVD so I'll check it out, thanks

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

Didn't he just win some Player of the Year award?

I read somewhere that Ryan Giggs was named player of the year.

Yup it was Giggs. All those footballers look the same to me

Another thing about Zombies is that it's quite hard to make them into cool members of society, as has been done endless times with Vampires and even now with Werewolves.

There are no zombie versions of Twilight. There is no Interview with a Zombie. The closest seems to be schlocky horror-comedies like Zombie Strippers (which is bad even for a b-grade film)

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

Dude, you don't have to sell me, I already picked Ronaldo.

Hockey's an interesting one. I suppose Ovechkin, but maaaayybeeee Crosby

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

American Football I'd take Adrian Peterson because you need a good running back and he is still very young.

Ooo nice, I think I might amend my pick.

I doubt Gerrard's own mother would pick him over Ronaldo or Messi.

Didn't he just win some Player of the Year award?

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

So the “football savvy” Dropkicks are obviously Liverpool fans.

Far from it, as I am led to believe

  • Field Theory: A time of imagination,

The idea was more, if you had nobody in your team and were picking first, but whatever.

The more cricket savvy Dropkicks last night selected Chris Gayle for cricket.

And Stephen Gerrard or Fernando Torres for football

All Blacks - That Argentinian Half Back Agustín Pichot.

The Dropkicks (well most of them) voted him the best halfback in the world but not our first pick.

    Is there a reverse draft?

Now *that* I would watch! 'Oi. You. Shitty player. Bugger off to the Utah Jazz.'

The NBA almost does have that. Crappy players are traded to other teams like this: if you take this guy off our hands we'll also give you this fairly good player and maybe another draft pick.
