So being booked on a flight is regarded as equivalent to having a boarding pass? In that case, then Brownlee had one?
Well no. If you have the booking app, you can check in 'on the day of travel' and THEN you get a boarding pass. As Brownlee was picking them up he wasnt using electronic means.

Well, as the individual electronic means are counted as a boarding pass, that would be a no. Even without bags they have to go through 'security' first, which is of course what Brownlee deliberately evaded.
What should have happened is that the boarding passes would be collected in the terminal as arranged and ministerial privilege could have applied at this point, and then normal processes occurred as the gate would be held open as they knew they were a few passengers short.

The radio interview makes it clear that the airport employee 'didnt give permission to pass' as they are saying she immediately called a supervisor over the two way radio to advise of security breach.
The real issue is that Brownlee intentionally evaded security, it wasnt that he was lost or knocked on a door just to see and it was opened. He wanted to evade the security checkpoint and as far as I know, deliberate intent counts a lot for determining guilt.

Its not a real valuation, done by a site inspection and measurements by an experienced valuer. Its a computer model which is then used to divide up the 'value' into a theoretical empty section and improvements.
For rates purposes its good enough but dont be fooled by its relationship to what an actual sale will be. In those circumstances improvements will allways get a higher price than an unrenovated place of the same floor area.
Then there is the valuation for insurance when a total rebuild is required.As you see the different numbers are unconnected, so its best to ignore the councils unnecessary division into land and improvements which never makes any sense

If indeed the objectors are listed under modification to stormwater consent instead of the plan change than thats the horse to back.
I remember a few years back Woolworths got a new supermarket from PakNsave stopped in its tracks a few months before opening.
The method they used was an obscure consent relating to a green turning arrow at a set of traffic lights.
Apart from that, the hearing result is only a recommendation going to Council, so would be wise to make sure the decision makers further up are aware of strong community concern and reject the plan modification. -
In the late 70s, I lived in an old nunnery in the CBD. Having startup bands practice in the old chapel would bring out the noise control pretty quick if it was done these days

The Chinese government isnt tear gassing anyone. The Hong Kong SAR has its own police force. If you remember the Occupy Auckland protest was broken up by the police. Some would say, its what they do.
Regarding the language, the Yue Chinese and related dialects are spoken throughout the Pearl River delta and areas down to Vietnam, they arent "disappearing". The introduction of forms of manadrin has occured throughout China and is not unique to Hong Kong.
Its hard to see how in a few areas the introduction of signage and shop assistants who understand the language of the customers is any different from many parts of Auckland. Its not a concern here and seems bizarre that it would be seen as a problem in Hong Kong. I bet English had a similar impact on 'shop signs' when mass air travel made Hong Kong a tourist destination. Hong Kong residents have long looked down their noses at the uncouth and provincial 'mainlanders' The local media have many stories of 'incidents' of mainland tourists behavior that would likely seen here as quite racist.

There were instances of civilian human shields and villagers herded onto bridges for some days to prevent artillery destroying the bridge.
War is not a nice place, but these sort of actions were condoned right up to the Kaiser. -
Just looking back to Hagers previous book Hollow Man and the reputed theft of Don Brashs emails.
Some that stands out nowis an OIA release showed the Police knew "something" about Brash missing emails long before Brash himself.Police today said in their reply to the OIA request that they were first notified of the alleged theft on August 30, 2005 and began their official investigation on September 28, 2006.
Dr Brash said in September 2006 that he had made a formal complaint, which was likely to have sparked the move to take up the matter.

The police refused to release any part of their files on the investigation saying it was likely to prejudice the maintenance of law and breach an obligation of confidence.

So they knew something about missing emails well before the book came out, and only after the Ombusman intervened did they even give the bare information about the earlier date.
The wording about maintenance of law and order in this situation probably means they were spying on Nicky Hager and knew of the emails when he was writing his book.Another person linked to Brash, Diane Foreman had two suspicious break ins at her Parnell apartment.
Foreman says she did not tell the police of the break-ins for more than a year because she initially thought the police themselves might have been responsible.
