It would be nice to see Brendan Leonard stay fit long enough to properly challenge for his position,
I might just be a parochial Wellingtonian but I'd pick a fit Piri as my starting halfback.
Give me a backline of Piri, Carter, Sivi, Nonu, Smith, Jane, Mils and you've got a superb set of players!I think C. Jane isn't getting the plaudits he deserves. He is truly truly world class. That Hutt Fend he's got is brutal and he's quick, awesome under the high-ball and can tackle well.

Re Roller Derby - I won the free tickets you had offering so first off thank you!
That was my second derby and I gotta say the skill level is improving. It's an awesome night out, I call it the Nascar of Wellington but without intending to be so derogatory!

Do you know if Telstra Clear will ever offer some kind of PVR deal? I can't see anything on their site.
I spoke to an annoying wee Telstra salesman who said that he expected a PVR to hit Telstra's market around November. Though given I've seen nothing about this since (this was August), I'm thinking this was just bluster.

And yet - again - they hang on to Rokococo. Jesus, what has Rokococo got to do to be dropped?
I'm beginning to suspect that our friend Joseva has photos of Messrs Henry, Smith & Hansen in compromising positions...

Finally entry through the front.
Right, everyone's an expert in this.
Me thinks the lady doth protest too much...

Am I the only person who is slightly more worried about Bob McCoskrie's functional innumeracy (or his Tourette-like compulsion to make shit up) than where Focus on the Family gets its money from?
Quelle horreur, nutty fundy groups get money from richer nutty fundy groups

Cullen in that famous Bledisloe game v. the Aussies where we scored three tries in the first ten minutes and then they came back but Lomu scored the winning try in the second half?
That was the one I remembered.
We've certainly thrown a lot away though - Mortlock in 03, Whomever Rodney threw it to in Rustenberg, McCallister on Saturday.
Deeper backline maybe? Get a halfback who can pass quicker?

Pop quiz: Can anyone actually remember the last time the All Blacks scored an intercept themselves?

Wellington has a bit of a social divide around rugby (a bit like Brits and soccer). Most people with a brain have been put off the game by the munters some years ago and actively avoid it.
For quite a while I thought the same...and then I discovered the Bristol where the munters are shepherded upstairs and us proper fans can have the tables downstairs (don't get the steak sandwich though...it's rubbish).

The film I worked on last year was one of the 3 dramas that filled out the top 3 in Wellington last year, and I have to say I was surprised. I think it was the judges trying to send a message that they were looking for something 'deeper'.
I'd rather see the lulz though. We just got drama as a genre. Hard to make that super-funny without contravening the rules...
