I just realised how creepy that last post of mine sounds. That's my Dad, just so we're clear! Not some old geezer....

Oh god, I CAN"T DECIDE between Greens and Labour for my party vote. I just can't. If I want to see someone on the Labour List get into parliament (I think he's 33 or something), I have to vote Labour, don't I? Don't I?

I just wanted to share this photo of the first man I ever loved. Sometimes he let me down, and I know I let him down from time to time, but he always loved me, and I him. I measure all other men against his character, and I miss him every day. This is my favourite photo ever of him. I have no idea who took it, or when it was taken.

Now that's an interesting point, Hans. When I went to England, I thought it would be all tickety boo because, as you say, they spoke the same lingo. Except that they didn't. They had a different sense of humour, their accents were, though fascinating, often hard to decipher. When I lived in Switzerland, and had to really up my game with regards to my standard of spoken French, at least I knew I was going to have to speak a different language, day in, day out.

That is astoundingly beautiful. I love the way that you've proportioned that green behind the red so well.

I'm a little reticent about posting pics of my family in recent years. For obvious reasons. But I'm quite happy about posting old France family ones.

This would have been orientation week - these lads are participating in the traditional drinking boat races. Which were closely followed by lots of helicopters (you know, not real helicopters. Human, with vomit.) In 1985, I had elected to only do 2 papers and was working fulltime at the University Cafeteria, so I had a grandstand view. The joy.
