I, for one, am not about to complain
I'l just whinge a little bit then.
I wish I could look forward to Jane Campion's new made for TV Drama. But I dont have Sky.
The Holly Hunter character is apparently based on UG Krishnamurti. The person who told a certain Madame Blavatsky and a lot of others he didnt want the role they were grooming him for, a reborn kinda christ! IMO a very intelligent person. And the male characters look like unlovely cartoon versions kiwi "blokedom" Which it really is anyway.
ok Whinge over... -
I'm beginning to like you Farmer Green quoting Alan Watts at length. The conservative pushback came in the 70's and has been going on ever since.
But its getting close to the time humanity took a good long look at itself en masse (that'll be fun) and the way we live on our 'third rock from the sun'.But while the money men and politicians are banging on about the economy and rushing about doing "free trade" deals, putting on a show of being all leaderly like. And we're being all nice and adopting intellectual postures about the amount of ancient bullshit people still believe.(there's no rush take your time) And the rest of us have sport to distract us. As is said 'there's shitshow of that happening'.

rather than a catastrophic king of the hill battle to be the last owners of everything.
That could take a while.
meanwhile in all other news the species called "human" is courageously trying to drown itself in a sea of bullshit and sport, words spouted from the mouths of fools seems to be the Golf Standard....whoops slip of the keyboard there
Ratslinger just has to dress down a bit to encourage others to blow smoke up his ring piece (or did he have to return it) So hard to know. -
Nice video Dyan.
Waitangi day slept mainly, worked on the fucking car, got ready to move...again. Watched TV started with Seven Blunt just to stop myself from getting too uppity.

We all have to reach our own accord with mortality, and if Holmes in his final days found that in the idea of God, that’s his business and his right.
Well No. With his death approaching this was probably the first time he thought about such things. The rudimentary nature of his thoughts betrays him in his words.
The only spirit that exists between us are the ones we create by our words and actions in this life. Behaving like an arsehole believing you have some kind of divine right to , or at that end of your days fall into the lazy trap of believing something outside of this existence will makes amends, somehow, is a luxury we cant keep affording ourselves. I will just raise the issue of gun rights in the US and leave it at that. Maybe if we have hurt someone or wronged them, seek them out and make amends. These appeals to a god is just lazy.
Sorry to disagree with you Russell on this, but I do. I shared a J or 2 with him there was a split between the private and public persona and perception. I never went out of my way to watch or listen to him. Seemed to me he tried to aim for an "everyman" appeal, and Im suspicious of such things. -

people need to get paid.
Yep, that just raises a host of problems related to the way we live, that we arent looking at in much detail. Or are being railroaded into...

clappity clappity
Yes the year is hardly one month old and sanity is thin on the ground. Yacht rock eh! the saccaharine soundtrack to a period of excess that saw a generation look up its own arse and get mesmerised. And ZZTop were part of that, girls and cars hmmm... And what followed, EC, yeah well...There's littleish smattering of madness here, here and here. Still someone managed to muster a bit of anger.

who knows how family currents & expectations mould people?
By watching beautifully as you seem to have.
When it comes to bad, urm, behaviour families have to "learn as you go" (sounds corny I know)
Or the state apparatus will step in. And that seems a fearful prospect. It shouldn't be.
