  • Cracker: Any questions?,

There are the people you want to propose to after talking to them for ten minutes *cough*Anita McNaught*cough*.
Few people, man or woman alike, have survived the McNaughty personal experience unscathed.

and you wanna know how many its sold, D? You angling to sneak onto this?
No, I think he wants to know if it's now worth suing for a royalty payment.

    That was painful...
Yes, but what an advertisement for home schooling!!

  • Random Play: Traveller Tales,

"There was a club called Apocalypse Now. Someone had a grim sense of humour."

So there's no Deer Hunter bar then?
"We don't have a dartboard mister, but we've got a roulette table out back if you're interested"

NB: You neglected to explain what you were doing in 'Nam in '69.
CIA? SAS? Foolhardy cub reporter for NZ Herald?

  • Sopranos. The end. (SPOILERS, surely),

Creator David Chase is adamant that this is the end. There will be no more Sopranos, in any form.
But money talks, and people sometimes need money they didn't need back when they first said 'never'. It's a key revenue stream for Playboy.
OTOH does anyone really care about a Sex & The City movie anymore? Seriously, they'll all be the grand old dames of NY by now. By the time a Soprano's movie comes out it could just be another Rocky Balboa.
(I'm too lazy to link, just go to imdb.com)

  • Island Life: Child's play,

Listen, why don't we get a mob together and lynch Ralph Norris. He jumped ship from Air NZ to join Australia's Commonwealth Bank:
"Ralph Norris will commence as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Bank from close of business on 22 September 2005. Ralph joins us from Air New Zealand Limited where he was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from February 2002 to August 2005. He has twice been honoured with New Zealand’s Executive of the Year – in 1997 while at ASB Bank and in 2004 while at Air New Zealand. "

Seriously, what a traitorous bastard. He should be stripped of those honours at the very least. I've a good mind to fly to Sydney and heckle his offices.

  • Island Life: Child's play,

To accuse NZ sailors who have accepted positions with teams other than Team New Zealand as 'traitors' is to buy into the marketing of Team New Zealand as a national team. Nevermind that it's the only 'national' team entered in the race, nevermind that it's sponsored by Emirates not Air NZ, nevermind that we're only in the race because Bertarelli provided the money to keep our syndicate afloat after we LOST the cup .... no, forget all that because we are nation of sad f#cks who pin our hopes/self-esteem on our international sporting prowess.
That people are even debating whether they are traitors on this site shows just how bad the malaise is. Many years ago, when Michael Fay decided to embark on his quest for the Cup (an ideal opportunity to network with international business people), he employed a very successful PR team to make kiwis believe this was an event of international significance (it's not) and worthy of a national endevour. So subsequently many of you bought the red socks - and clearly haven't taken them off since.
    Fools.

  • Radiation: Pathetic, not,

FYI: Flight of The Conchords are on Letterman tonite (Wednesday) at around 11pm on Prime.

but no, we'll bump Letterman and play the League instead. Which means Prime won't play it because they never do (when an episode gets bumped) and they probably have no clue they were on anyway.

Oh well, watch it here instead
