you'd think that by now the Minister would've told the DHB to do something pronto, talk about dragging their feet.
Well done to all the activists who've managed to get Ashley's story a high media profile.
If this doesn't get a result, maybe it's time to get people picketing the place he is imprisoned. There is a lot of public support for his plight. -
I wonder what Robert would make of the free prime time advertising just provided to Altus Enterprises on Seven Sharp (which I only watched because Hosking wasn't there). I'd feel a whole lot more comfortable with Altus if I didn't know that they pay some people considerably less than minimum wage under the Minimum Wage Act 1983.

While everyone who appeared on the clip came across as very happy, no mention was made of pay rates. This company has claimed in the past that it would not be viable without the exemption. While it clearly provides a friendly, positive environment, is it also exploiting people?

Wise Group has withdrawn from Social Bond negotiations which would have seen "employment consultants" placed in GP practices targeting people with mental health issues.

Lawyer Tony Ellis said the ombudsman’s latest declaration meant there was “plainly” a civil case to be made under the Bill of Rights Act if the family decided to take one.
The Human Rights Commission may have a part to play here. Breaches of human rights are their bread and butter.

They are not listening to people who know him or know about insert diagnosis
A problem endemic in Ministry of Health disability provision. I suspect ACC does it better. Certainly there is a lot of room for improvement.

Mr Lotu-liga said the safety of Mr Peacock and the people around him was paramount.
There's a risk here in that it would be a simple matter for Ashley to be released into an unsuitable environment, or care, resulting in badly managed meltdown. That would then be used as an "I told you so" to attempt to justify his lengthy incarceration, maybe even return him to it. Do you think they would stoop so low?

Hapless Minister being incorrectly advised by MoH
Instead of crawling under the bus, Sam should start questioning what he is told and randomly checking things out for himself. A visit to see the room and facility in which Ashley is held and to read the log showing how much time he has spent there would be a good start. His experience with corrections gives him an excellent basis for comparison. There's no way a Minister can retain his mana if he allows advisors to get away with blatantly misleading him.

yes, good luck, in our experience the real person is usually okay, so long as she can enter the necessary data into the demanding and inflexible software.
Which does make you wonder just how it is that information has been lost, since it is all entered into Goliath in order to approve the benefits already provided.
And honestly, would you cut a person's benefit if you thought the system owed them money? Only on Planet Key. -
I hope he receives an appropriate reception.
