here's an old favourite. the (scottish) cure.
or... for that earworm. another fav.

And for anyone that scorns SUVs that never leave the paved road... I assure you I've had to drive up on the curb on more than one occasion.
driving. FAIL.
-
What physical under-endowment are you over-compensating for, Julia?
doubtless a complete inability to drive safely.
seem to be the common thread to 4wd owners...

well... thinking more like this...
or, this
:)

a new day! i can post some more songs.
the song almost solely responsible for a five-year collection of alt country is "elvis presley blues", which isn't on youtube.
but here's caleb meyer
and if you like your pyschobilly? i saw these guys in forth worth in 2001. crazy.
and high in the running for the cheeeeesiest video off a truly great album.

Hard not to smile, or dance for that matter
damn straight. that's one of the few songs that get this guy up on the dance floor. well... that or anything reggae/hip-hop.
heard a great story* about them trying to write it and bootsie collins walking in. he takes a listen as says, "nope. you gotta make it like this". naturally it's their only hit.
(*possibly apochryphal)

and, enough from me for now, except... for a little mclusky to even out the architecture.
and to even out mclusky, some janice.
(sorry joss, you will never have that.)
and finally, this, from the last waltz.
it's the last time levon helm thinks he'll ever play this song. there's a bit where he gets so lost in it that he almost forget to drum.
tell you wut. that's a southern redneck right there really feeling the loss.
-
tom, didn't get the link. you got some skinny bloke in the video?
-
Gotta have a bit of Depeche Mode to lift the thread.
i saw the violator tour in dallas in 88. pretty damn good. my most embarrassing moment (TM) occurred not many weeks after when i heard to sing "all i ever wanted, all i ever needed, is here, in my arse"
and what to add that isn't here already? how about architecture in helsinki?
(test test)

i'll also admit listening to the cure for an unnaturally long time after college...
so at least i was emo before emo was emo.
