  • Hard News: Practically jokers, in reply to Ken Sparks,

Yep – the phrase ‘more money than sense’ comes to mind.

I always loved the total impossibility of More Dollars than Cents now I realise that that is how Capitalism seems to work.
So maybe the time has come for the CCCP

the Conservative Party’s stance on climate change

Spotted another mistake in that pamphlet, Canute.
The correct spelling is actually Cnut, a name not to be messed with.

  • Hard News: Practically jokers,

    Speaking of Practically Jokers…
Our Prime Joker had this to say this morning on News Waffle ZB about the Americas Cup challenge…
    Reported in Te Harold

"This can’t be a government-led thing,” he said.

Well, apparently, according to the same tabloid…

An evaluation of the economic benefits of the 2013 America’s Cup to New Zealand found that from a $36m investment, the domestic economy received an $87m boost.

Well we can’t have the Gummint investing in the domestic economy can we? God forbid, That would take money out of the pockets of the Top 10% and we couldn’t do that… could we?.

  • Hard News: Practically jokers,

In other "news" I hear the Gerry Brownnose is pushing the Cycleway bs again. Isn't that the "mandate" Jonkey got in on in the first place"
Having, last week, driven down from the far North in a storm and watched State Highway 1 disintegrating before my eyes I was beginning to think the cyclepath was becoming a reality, as in "How do you create a third world country? Give John Key a first world one and wait a few years..."
And another thing. Did anyone else get one of those Electoral "Adverts" from JK's orafice the other day? paid for by Parliamentary Services. Apparently it's ok for him to campaign on the public purse but no so Labour with the old pledge card.

    Nail, meet head.
Abbasolutely Craig, you had your name first and kept it that way. I have always had a problem with people with two of them.
Plus the fact that Mr Twofirstnames is a complete dick.

I would rather nail myself to a cross than go to the Parachute Music Festival, dubbed "THE HAPPIEST LITTLE FESTIVAL ON EARTH" apart from the fact that there is no way yyou can hammer in the last nail.

We were going to go to Te Feeldays but after having read the draconian regulations regarding dogs, decided not to...

    "Animals
"Seeing eye" dogs are the only animals allowed on site at Fieldays (no exceptions). If you bring your pet to Fieldays, or leave your pet in your vehicle, you will be asked to take them home. "

Regardless of what you think of "Dogs in Cars" etc. bear in mind it is the middle of winter and the possibility of "sunstroke" for a dog this time of year being absolutely minnimal. This is coming from people who kill lambs to eat them.

And yes, I nearly cried when I heard about Rick Mayall, then I had a vision of myself weeping like Rick over some imagined sleight against Cliff Richard and just had to laugh...
    Ri (ght) Prick.

  • Hard News: Friday Music: Buying Cool,

    I love these …
great in the car – soothing, calming…
while you are working, on repeat…
forget Morning Report’s paltry Bird of the Day

Talking books in the car, Bill Bryson, brief history of almost everything, rinse repeat until second nature.....
Then put on some music that sounds like....

...my new Adobe Meta 4.0 predictive analogy generator

    Then vote Internet Party...
I feel the '60s coming back....
