How to slow down consumption of drugs at an event?
Release vague news and never provide any clear context. -
I would agree.
What would a motor-scooter be closest to? I have ridden real motorbikes, pushbikes and scooters over the last 30 years, and find for some reason riding a little 50cc scooter as the most antagonistic of the bunch.
Even when riding at clearly illegal speeds (derestriction makes the scooters better...) you still have idiots cutting you off, trying to overtake into oncoming traffic, hitting you, etc. I gave up on them as its safer cycling as I can use the cycle path without additional complaints. -
The best manner to get National to change their minds on this policy is , 1) have labour include it as one of their policies, 2) have national think this change for labour will result in votes.

The prime minister, and his previous ministers of health are all incompetent buffoons. Drugs r bad (tm).
Except if your drinking your drug. Then its good.

So... the international CEO of a major NZ corporate - who has been saying their piece in multiple outlets - needs a little help to provide clarification on why they are looking at removing consumer choice with the attempt to enforce their IP rights. Throw in commentary about the amount invested (ad nauseum), some vain attempts to instil nationalistic pride, ignorance to the amount NZrs are forced to invest in 'content' - NZ on air is not free money, its my money.
Take for note.
Lightbox is not a new media. Lightbox is the child of a NZ monopoly. A monopoly that has abused NZ citizens for many years. A monopoly that has stripped profit out of NZ for years. A monopoly who is now attempting to set foot in a new area, and expecting NZrs to continue to pay hand over fist. A monopoly that has few friends. A monopoly that has driven many consumers away. If somehow the courts decide that this activity falls foul of the copyright act (which it shouldnt). if the courts somehow state that it is currently not legal for callplus to provide a simple VPN to its clients, then you will not gain new customers. Telecoms ship has sailed.

Legal Beagle: MPs to vote on raising…, in reply to
Tosh.
Long haul business class in Air New zealand is not first class elsewhere. Air new zealand business class is on par with other three.four class airlines. Such as Singapore air, emerates, british airways, KLM, Ethiad etc. Lie flat beds are largely defacto in most modern airlines, bar older models that are being phased out. Im looking at you Lufthansa.
There should be 0 preference ot support air new zealand if they do not offer the best value for money for the new zealand tax payer. I work with one of the largest companies in NZ, and we hold exactly zero ties to any airline,.

Look. I cant do anything about these pay rises, its out of our control. These are set by an independent authority.
Oh, perks, hell yea, we can up our perks. lets do that. Oh we handed back some payrise. ok lets raise the perks even higher.

I work in science (industry). In a female dominated field (cept for HOD/Prof level ... strange that). I interact with many academics, male and female.
I wouldn't recommend anyone, male or female, get involved in STEAM. Run, run like hell. Unless you manage to get off shore employment/scholarship. I retrained thinking it would be useful to gain post-grad education to progress in the world. NZ is a dead end where enormous volume of qualified phds are left doing technicians jobs that only a few years ago were filled by BSc. The others are left on unemployment, or working in completely different fields for low income - after spending a fortune on education. Return on investment is depressing.

Hard News: Some reprehensible bullshit, in reply to
By the comment "we renovated" I assume you did not pay commercial rates for builders (and joiners) and the ever lovely plumbers at 30-50$ per hour. Or did you do the kiwi DIY? 20 years ago I used to price retrofit wet accessible bathrooms for 8-15K - a reasonable proportion of this was<25$ labour.
-
I work in the commercial setting and paper access is an absolute abomination. Can easily spend 5grand on one general review as our library service has minimal access to publications, and all outside publications are purchased either directly -~50$ apiece, or worse through places like infotrieve - who have pricing ranging from obscene right through to Bill Cosby.
I have absolutely no level of guilt about sourcing papers through the academic sharing network. Anything that results in less profits to these monopolistic monstrosities the better.
