Trump is largely the inevitable end result of a failure by the Obama folks (and proceeding administations) to deliver real improvement for the majority of middle class, and lower Americans. When the system fails the politicians will start beating the drums.

The Minister is clarely out of her depth. At a public meeting in Wellington to save TV7, I asked her the same question 3 times, she fumbled and flustered causing Grant Robertson to intervene and answer on her behalf! I agree, this entire portfolio is a mess and the Minister doesn't know what to do. Years ago I asked a previous Labour Minister of Broadcasting Marian Hobbes to provide one quality TV state channel, and she said she had a just appointed a good man, Ian Fraser, to sort it out. That was 20 years ago and I've given up waiting . I've switched off.

Cunliffe is not perfect, but has had popular grass roots support. The issue is far larger and more complex than removing Cunliffe. A reworking of Cunliffe, as leader, and the Party is needed. A more inclusive party, including the missing one million voters, is one of the main issues. Whether the party is labelled ‘left’ or ‘centre left’ is not helpful if the party is to progress.

Hi Russell and Damien,
First. THANKS Russell for a great program Media 7 . Haven't watched since TV7 was killed off by Natz. Damien. How long did it take to realise you were rogered by the Government. The system is designed that way and you don't seem to get it. Voting them in only encourages them. Our public broadcasting is totally stuffed. Much better in Australia. -
I thought we had been 'nationalised'! That is the prob. This is a lazy fair govt. Corporate rulz nZZZZZZ!

Disappointed that you guys didn't speak up about the death of quality non-commercial free to air broadcasting TVNZ 7. Where to now for quality free to air? We have been sold out.

Why don't we do away with legal process and just accept the police judgement that the recording incident was illegal and proceed on that basis. It would save a lot of money dearest John and Bill. xx
