  • Polity: Meet the middle,

I'm interested in the impact of this psychological phenomenon (on 'centre' / 'swing voters'), when paired with very regular polling demonstrating (accurately or not) how National are the dominant force

  • Hard News: Meet me at Camera 2: White,

I personally think our economic system and the way it is organised (drives other inequalities) is a more pernicious power structure that people should focus on. But, yeah, I'm an educated cis heterosexual 'white' male with two parents and no disabilities from an urban area, so I guess I would say that. I think a better setup is everyone being mindful of their power and how they acquired it, no matter the context.

  • Hard News: Privacy and the Public Interest, in reply to Russell Brown,

Looks pretty obvious that the order for removal probably came from Odgers, looking at the list of links.

  • Hard News: Dirty Politics,

The right is certainly relying on:

-The more pronounced moral aversion to outright fabrication and deception from Left leaning people (not a level playing field, in a sense)
-Knowledge that in their misguided attempts at ‘balance,’ all specific claims in Hager's book will end up being minimised / obfuscated by the majority of popular media outlets
-‘Middle NZ’ seeing this as more of the same ‘dirty politics’ that they hate, and it driving down voter turnout, as Simon Lusk attempted to predict

  • Hard News: Friday Music: Grey Fucking Area,

Now Labour are using it politically on Twitter

"chrishipkins: Finally had a chance to see the Dotcom video everyone's talking about. It's alarming. No place for that kind of thuggery in NZ politics"

"chrishipkins: Getting a bunch of people drunk and getting them to chant abuse isn't political leadership. It's thuggery and megalomania intertwined."

  • Random Play: @fltfoxz. Gr8. C u 2moro,

Now that you mention it, yes - and you're doing splendidly on the not writing or writing seldom thing.

Maybe I neglected to read the disclaimer on sign-up that said you must post regularly to maintain the respect of the faceless and unnecessarily aggressive.

I enjoyed the Fleet Foxes show - it was definitely not the kind of environment (compared to more energetic genres) where cellphone use would go unnoticed. That said, those who were more engaged in the music probably wouldn't notice, or care, about others texting, filming, whatever.
