Try Little Cake Kitchen in Upper Queen Street, opposite Radio Rhema and at the end of the Ian McKinnon cycleway link BRILLIANT brioche, Custard and Rhubarb and the Cinnamon get me every time
Thanks - the technology is getting too hard, I remember 78s
I think this might be the reference to Karen Hay. The only INXS song I like and I still remember Karen’s comment when this video finished “I never knew Australians’ had so much class!”
I was on iTunes playing around the other week when the Hoodoos popped up, that will be another trip back for the future.
Movie of the year was Boy. Funny, insightful and showed a side on NZ that many of us look on with fondness;but don't see what goes on behind the scenes - it's not all fun and laughter. My 13 year old son yelled out fairly loudly as the cyclists rolled through the shot of Boy on the bridge "Dad-there go all your mates" A great movie to share with your kids, though the "egg" theme has done its dash at home for now.
Not being much of a filmgoer I haven't seen heaps more. However I thoroughly enjoyed the movie Rialto/Bridgeway showed last week of "A Prairie Home Companion". An October 2010 live show demonstrating the best of America. Sara Watkins was brilliant http://www.sarawatkins.com/ and the Old Crow Nedicine Show are coming back to town next year according to Bernie Griffin. A must attend.
Merry Xmas to all and a great 2011.
Thanks for sharing this, I enjoyed your story and found it truely moving. Christmas is a time when we all remember family; my Grandfather too was a huge presence in my young life, as we lived in his house in Ponsonby. I couldn't go anywhere in the neighbourhood without being known as Ernie's grandson. As a result of one of these friendships I can claim to have spent my first New Year, 50 years ago next week, in my pram at the Gluepot .
My Mum never saw my two children, a result of her early death at 59. I wish she'd had the chance to see my kids and my niece whom she never met. There's a streak of stubborness in my daughter that comes from her; it would be an interesting relationship to have watched.
Warm wishes to you and the family, both the Brown family in the Point and the much larger Public Address one. A Happy Christmas and Wonderful New Year to all.
