    Yay, Fiona's back. Yay!
Loving the new series of Its Always Sunny on C4, but what's up with screening Entourage so bloody late at night? Just as well we own it on dvd, aye? Do yuo know if we're getting Reaper? Heard good things about it.

Screw the wine-sipping gits at the Zoo gigs.

  • Hard News: Media 7,

Congrats, Rusell. Something to watch, just when I'd stopped watching the evening tv news - the schmucks don't know the difference between graffiti art and tagging. Print media doesn't seem much better. It doesn't bode well in an election year... sigh...

  • Hard News: Farce About,

so, John Key has to try and get back 10,000 dvds he's been handing out - maybe he should have, ah, maybe used some original New Zealand music instead? Like that band, Brooke Fraser.

  • Radiation: Television hell,

re ratings boxes... "And only to people who own their own homes" - not true. I used to know a flat of students who had a ratings box in their flat.

  • Radiation: Television hell,

re Welcome to Paradise - this is from the NZH feature on the show...

"Ironically, one of the most pertinent criticisms levelled at Kiwi comedy came from the Conchords' Jemaine Clement.

Talking about their failed attempt to make a sitcom in New Zealand (TVNZ turned them down before HBO snapped them up), he said networks should look to the live scene, rather than trying to create something based on shows from Britain or the US.

He also pointed out that the world's most successful sitcoms - Seinfeld, The Office, Little Britain - put established stand-ups on screen.Gibson isn't keen to dissect the comedy rules, Melody included. He's confident in his young cast, despite most being comedy novices. The actors went through an extensive workshopping period to help them find the humour in their characters. "

Yet again, TV overlooks the thriving local stand-up comedy scene for a bunch of actors with no sense of timing, or delivering a punchline... sheesh!

BUT loving seeing Its Always Sunny again. Can't wait for series 2 where Danny De Vito joins the cast

Heather, I think the bet was with the rest of the band, who bet him something like $2000 each.

  • Hard News: Done and Blended,

Russell - Thanks for another great night. Mr Brown was fantastic. He made all the subsequent whining about tv from the panel/audience seem a bit insignificant. Yes, the internet/mobile will change your game, but do tv folk really think they can return to previous levels of ad revenue? Yeah, right. Esp enjoyed NZOA lady wagging finger at TVNZ guy, saying 'hey, we gave you $75 million.." I knew his response as soon as she said it. "Yeah, and we gave the govt $80 million dividend". How could she not see that coming? He he...

  • Hard News: More Wikipedia Scanning,

    Hey Russell
The Air NZ wikipedia story is front page on The Press, but with no credit to Rob for finding it. Aint it funny that at the recent Journalism Matters conference, the journos in attendence were moaning about how bloggers never do any decent research, and then they rip off bloggers but dont credit them as the source., Hilarious!
