  • Up Front: You People and Your Quaint…,

    What, no actual sentences?

Ha, depends how cunning...generally as i understand it, a systematic method of finding which letters work; being multilingual opens up universes....

Gotta agree with you there Rich, sounds sound.

her being with another woman at the same time as being able to shag her themselves.

I have a latino (necessary info) buddy from Phoenix who's 12 year marriage was in part based on doing quite a bit of that, unfortunately the extra curricular activity eventually drove them apart....the guy was a little racy for me but he had some good tips..one of which I feel compelled to share at this juncture, when performing cunning linguisitcs, letting the tongue write the letters of the alphabet....

  • Hard News: Safer Communities Together,

I trust this allays your concerns.

Thanks for that Stephen, sounds hilarious, I'm not clear was this real or reenacted?

The point is about the words - or rather the sentences. He could have used quote marks if he liked. Which would have shown how lazy he was being (part of the problem) rather than disguising it (a lot more of the problem).

Mark, the underlying cultural assumption behind 'plagiarism is bad' is 'credit where it's due'.

Yeah, sorry I woke up on the wrong side of the bed..

  • Hard News: Safer Communities Together,

To what do you so obliquely refer?

My work internet does not allow me to open Facebook.

    What is this all about?

Was asking the same question, No one's prepared to write it down, people just keep pointing to some video clip, elitism against the blind.

  • Hard News: Safer Communities Together,

But I fear we may not be hearing too much more of Garth.

Ah yes the capitalist ethic, no communism in journalism etc, how right you are.

And the underlying conditioned cultural response that it's not ok to share ideas, that people must work independently, is why the environmental problem will never be solved.

Do I hear a "but that's the rules"? While flaunting youtube...

  • OnPoint: Manufacturing Dissent,

Are you saying the deep structure stuff that Chomsky pioneered is now regarded as completely wrong, or do we just have a more nuanced understanding of its place alongside other stuff?

More nuanced understanding, this page has info about the changes that have taken place there.

  • OnPoint: Manufacturing Dissent,

Being wrong isn't something a scientist should lose respect for anyway. It's easy to not be wrong.

Indeed. Also I'm not sure that disproved necessarily entails wrong.

Have no idea if Chomsky is out of the mainstream in that.

No, hes firmly ensconced as he's kept updating and revising. A mere graze on the God's record.
