  • Hard News: Dropping the Bomber, in reply to HORansome,

he (and his caucus) is trying too hard to be like John Key and be all things to all people.

    [citation needed]
And that's my point, you will be hard pressed to find one that hasn't come from Nationals spinmeisters.
I would, in fact, say that it is the other way round in reality. Key is trying to be like Goff and his caucus, experienced, professional and capable. As far as we have seen Key is none of these things. Goff has served this country for around 42 years as a member of the Labour Party and has been a cabinet minister for around 15 of those. Key, on the other hand has had, merely 9 long years in da house, three of those as a relaxed puppet that has the ability to "reject" facts that do not suit the not so secret agenda of enriching his peers. A previous life was spent in the very business that has brought the global financial system close to collapse, he lasted less than 2 years in any position. As we now know he was known as ""the smiling assassin" for maintaining his usual cheerfulness while sacking dozens (some say hundreds) of staff after heavy losses from the 1998 Russian financial crisis"

    true, wikipedia says so
So, why do people think Goff is lame? Crosby Textor told you so...

  • Hard News: Dropping the Bomber, in reply to Sacha,

The Hollow Men provides documented evidence of the same folk doing exactly that in the 2005 election campaign.

Exactly, last time (2008) it was Clark they were targeting, this time it's Goff. I found it not that hard to pin down last time but this time it's more subtle. We are forever hearing, from "our side" too, that Goff is just hopeless but can you put your finger on how and why you think that, it 'ain't that easy.

Anyhoo, with any luck this latest debacle, "OilSpill Gate" shall we call it? could finish Key this time. Lying again on TV3, on Campbell Live, ironic, much?
After claiming that no country could possibly have resources on hand for such an event, Bollocks John and you know that...
    This from Maritime New Zealand

    Responding to spills and pollution

Maritime New Zealand maintains a response capability of sufficient size to counter an oil spill of 3,500 tonnes, which is deemed to be a 'one in a hundred year' event. If the scale of an incident is beyond the nation's domestic capability, arrangements are in place to secure overseas assistance. This relationship is reciprocal - New Zealand will be expected to assist our neighbours if requested.

  • Hard News: Dropping the Bomber, in reply to peterpeasant,

I suspect Crosby/Textor have swotting up on Mein Kampf and the techniques Goebbels used. Griffin and Cavanagh are just “following orders”., relying on a defence used at the Nuremberg trials.

You are closer than you think.
Public Relations, eg. Crosby Textor is the game invented by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays \Edward Bernays

In his 1965 autobiography, Bernays recalls a dinner at his home in 1933 where
Karl von Wiegand, foreign correspondent of the Hearst newspapers, an old hand at interpreting Europe and just returned from Germany, was telling us about Goebbels and his propaganda plans to consolidate Nazi power. Goebbels had shown Wiegand his propaganda library, the best Weigand had ever seen. Goebbels, said Wiegand, was using my book Crystallizing Public Opinion as a basis for his destructive campaign against the Jews of Germany. This shocked me. ...

So, the similarity to the German propagandist is hardly surprising.

Ah, the novelty of an inept Godwinning..

Far from inept, quite astute. Stop being so damned smug Sacha.

I have to recommend a little place on the south side of Sandringham, Prague, definitely a meat lovers place. Good hearty Eastern European dishes just like Mum used to make. If your Mum happened to be Czechoslovakian that is, nice atmosphere too.

I got an email from a friend in Nigeria,

You must have been going through JK's eMails. That one was going to be an election booster for National.

"We don't choose to go to the Moon because it's hard, we choose to go to the Moon because Deborah Coddington says there are people there."

Who knows what webs they will spin to keep that nice Mr Key's bum warm on that BMW seat?.

  • Hard News: The Politics of Absence,

Well I just released, er received a email , from a friend who I've dealt with and I trust and I can't name cos I never reveal my sauces, that CERA gave a meeting and they said that more buildings would have been damaged in Christchurch under a Labour Government and I know because he is my friend and I trust him. And also I heard, in a email from a friend that I trust cos I've dealt with him at a major New Zealand Bank, about a boat that got stuck on a reef off Tauranga and it has leaked more oil since Winston Peters woke up this morning and my friend should know cos he works in a Major New Zealand Bank and I trust him.

Except this wouldn’t be just to run the campaign, it would have to run the whole party.

And what a party it would be, Russ has been known to organise piss-ups in Town Halls let alone breweries.

That childish eye-rolling clip yesterday should be repeated rather a lot.
Yes. When the carefully crafted mask does slip, it's not a pleasant sight.

Whilst nonchalantly massaging the Dan Carter like "Groin Strain" our esteemed sub-prime minister slouches like a drunk in a semi stupor, great look... NOT!
