There cannot be good governance without good information given to good people. It's impossible in a democracy. Yes yes, must adhere to unwritten rules about not taking advantage of a competitors poor equipment selection/mechanical sympathy/competence... it's just not on, and I'd hate to win because I 'cheated'.

On a probably unrelated note... I received a letter drop from the local MP (Maungakiekie) which is a 'survey'.
The survey to be returned has my name and address on it - presumably from the electoral (t)roll. The questions are fairly leading, and include asking who I would vote for if an election were held today.
"The information is being collected by [the MP] in his capacity as a member of parliament to be used for the electorate and related activity"
?related activity?
I't s come from the National Party presumably, though the house of representative's seal is also present.
