I'll go out on a limb and guess that the BDO lineup might look a bit similar. In which case, come on down M.I.A., Peter, Bjorn and John, and Wilco.
If this turns out to be true, I will have a nervous breakdown trying to negotiate all of my band clashes and run between stages. There are worse problems to have, of course...
(That M.I.A. song which uses the lyrics from 'Where is My Mind?' might be the closest I ever get to seeing the Pixies, anyway. Sigh.)

I was expecting nothing great from the BDO announcement, and I am so pleasantly surprised! Rage, meh, whatever, but Bjork, LCD Soundsystem, Dizzee Rascal, and the Arcade Fire? I can almost hear my husband squeeing from 15kms away. And I've never seen The Clean, astoundingly. That day is $120 well spent! Applying for annual leave as we speak.
(Also, um, Iran. Eeep.)

Forget 'frisson of nervousness': I am already in my completely illogical high panic mode.
(I am starting to wonder if I can even handle watching any of our big games live. Perhaps on Sunday I'll just hide in the kitchen until it's over, making some sort of enormous, distracting breakfast feast. Like a good sheila should.)

The thought of banning reality television sends an icy chill down my spine. Life without The Amazing Race, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model (and its current stand-in, The Search for the Next Doll), and repeats of the Real World? What do you people want me to do - read or something? :)
(That documentary from a couple of years ago about al Jazeera, Control Room, was very interesting. I'm afraid that's all I've got on the 'real' subject at hand.)

Oh, and Tom: we still have one of those boiled egg, vinegar and condensed milk salads every Christmas. My grandfather wouldn't have it any other way!

Also 32 (for eight more days!), and I'm all about the Selwyn Toogood reference. I loved watching Beauty and the Beast and It's in the Bag.
I remember in primary school, the height of childhood wit was calling him 'Selwyn Threebad'...
