What me worry?
The United Nations’ Agenda 21 is here to save us from ourselves, so they say…1.1. Humanity stands at a defining moment in history. We are confronted with a perpetuation of disparities between and within nations, a worsening of poverty, hunger, ill health and illiteracy, and the continuing deterioration of the ecosystems on which we depend for our well-being. However, integration of environment and development concerns and greater attention to them will lead to the fulfilment of basic needs, improved living standards for all, better protected and managed ecosystems and a safer, more prosperous future. No nation can achieve this on its own; but together we can – in a global partnership for sustainable development.
Here is NZ’s framework for implementing Agenda 21 – I think John Key thinks a cycle trail will keep us happy while they get on with the land grab, or whatever the real reasons behind it all are ….

Tannery Row....
Ya do realise that there is a mini sample of the Tannery Emporium running already (7 days a week) - aka The First Few ShopsThe “boutique” stores Redfish Bluefish, Toi Toi Design Store, Where The Fox Lives, Flock Design Boutique, Deadset and Smith’s Bookshop have temporarily set up shop in a car park while they await for The Tannery shopping arcade to open early next year.
...and they also have a site planned for music fans - Al Park will be the host at The Park which is sounding like a venue to look forward to....
The shifting of the snooty Farmers Market at Lyttelton (to London St), is impacting the usual saturday market on the green above the school on Oxford St. But they are doing things to make it a destination too - live local music, and now I guess they'll be able to have food and coffe there at last. It was a little slow today, but has a good community feel and deserves to prosper - support em folks, break that Chchch mould and dare to walk a half block or less...

One of the things that seemed strange to me, was their non-reason for not trialling Novopay© in just one region - something along the lines of some teachers work at more than one school...
"Trialling it in some schools would have been practically impossible, because of the fact so many teachers work in a multiple number of schools and move during the year between one school and another."
"Trialling it in a particular areas means that you'd have people on two systems simultaneously and it was just not possible."- but those schools would still be in the same geographic region wouldn't they? And they'd have to have a plan for people leaving the system at any time anyway, or is there a whole class of city-hopping teachers we don't hear about?
