Do you know how Mark is, these days?
He taught me art in the 7th form, many moons ago...Was that at Hagley?
I don't know him, but I believe he lives and works in Oxford (or Loburn) these days, making paper making machines and, I assume, marks on paper still...
from the Artists.co.nz site
and his own site (I think) -
the kids are alright…
another Scandinavian stand out all girl group that excelled and entertained at the Woodford folk festival were the multitalented Norwegians Katzenjammer.
they remind me of that wonderful old Aussie band
The Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band… -
no Lens in the house...
would these pix and cameras be called
obscura objects of design?
But isn't it amazing what you can do with just one little prick!
is this the new no Zeiss guy zeitgeist?is there a digital version?
or is it all still done with chemicals and darkrooms?I always liked this year long exposure pinhole pic

Sisters, doing it for themselves..
I was switched on this by Graham Reid:
My partner loved Baskery at the Australian Woodford Folk Festival a while back, fabulous live act by all accounts, she even bought the CD!

the Vesuvio bar
We had a Vesuvio in Chchch in the ’90s
I did the logo and collaged the bar area walls
with copies of posters and images, Bill hammond did
a wall painting in the Teppan Yaki area,
Mark Lander did the colour scheme and
earth toned awning over the bar.
it was a favourite spot for a while…I like this shot from the San Francisco bar

The wonderful Archibald.
at least the Fountain outlasted The Bulletin
I remember many a ‘70s night tottering across from the Ramada to sit and gaze at The Bowker Fountain’s late night light show, before boarding a passing omnibus for deepest St Albans…
There also used to be a band rotunda in Victoria Square
and I see in the paper today that the Edmonds’ Band Rotunda is to be demolished… I remember organising out door gigs there epochs ago – also coming down is the Armson woolstore (Durham st by the overbridge) which I worked in as a yoof, latterly it has been a design store and is right next to the main access to the Rialto Cinema……the pic must have been done in the 1980s because the Forsyth Barr building isn’t there.
to be pedantic The Forsyth Barr wouldn’t have been there then either, even if it was, it would have been the R Jones Investments building (Bob’s Block) back then…
…best be off bricks to clean and stack…
hi ho hi ho…PS I note an excellent letter from ex-city manager, John Gray, in today’s Press – bring him back!

I know people who would much rather be punched in
the face than have an idea exposed as incorrect.Sounds like the entire National Government

- National Standards
- Off Shore Drilling
- Fracking
- Chch Earthquake handling
.......but as soon as you mix up sex and recreation … ew.
Indeed, all you get are excretions...
