    ACT sacs...

    Are those helium balloons supposed
    to represent their policies?.

    Yup, squander scarce natural,
    or costly to create, resources
    while floating lofty ideals...

    When they obviously
    have enough hot air to
    gas bag with already!

I remember the Ayn Rand wave – those people were scary, their shiny eyes and brutally cold logic turned me right off.

I hear them referred to as Randroids, or Ayndroids maybe,
(never Rosenbaum-bots ) or are they just Greenspanners
    and Randumb Factors...

    Free parking...
If the Occupy folk had to move from Aotea Square
wouldn't Myers Park, near the top of Queen street,
be the next best place to go and as I recall it was a
designated free speech area if not people's park...
still has a fair bit of passing traffic and isn't at all
    far from the madding K'road...

    pensée...

an automatic pension being paid to anyone aged 65+, funded by general taxation by a shrinking workforce (notwithstanding those over 65 still paying tax) is going to put immense strain on government coffers in coming decades.

But won't the people paid this pension be spending it back into the economy?
It's not like they are getting it and going out the back and burning it in the incinerator or in some other way taking it out of circulation...

  • Hard News: Ante Up,

    dystopia or dyspepsia...
Key promises that the NEW assets he will economagically create, including broadband for all will return massive amounts of money to the country - so maybe we will just have TVN7 as a YouTube channel for all to access - which we'll be able to watch in our cars as we drive on all the new roads (with free wifi) that he will create as well, and what with us unable to own our own homes or moving in convoys away from the scorched earth of Chchch, the distraction will be welcome...

  • Speaker: Doing the right thing on retirement, in reply to David Cormack,

You know I’m really surprised at the level of
    invective towards National.

    ...heat ...kitchen ...portal
no more so than at a party when people behave badly
or in sport when one team persists in 'gamesmanship'
    they get called on it
    it's politics not tiddlywinks
    so people get bagged...

I wonder if National will tell us how they'll vote
on Nov 11 at The UN on admitting Palestine ?
will they (purportedly on our behalf) once again abstain
as they gutlessly did on the recent UNESCO vote.

The USA should be ashamed of itself too...
