I like the Killers' music, but them live was booooooooooooring. They just come across as total wankers, like even they are bored with themselves. Which is a bit of a shame, but there were plenty of other bands who were gracious and happy to be there - apart from being magnificently grand and putting on an amazing show, Muse seemed like really nice people, Eskimo Joe were so happy that people were singing along to their stuff and Lily Allen and Peaches were just marvellous with the crowd interaction.
I don't think I could ever go to the Big Day Out again without an Immortals Lounge pass - my friend most wanted to see Eskimo Joe, which meant getting there at 12.15, so we spent nearly three hours after that up in the lounge out of the crowd and the sun, doing sudoku. I am so very rock'n roll.

Hells yes! Did Gemma float back to the beach and decide to live? Did the Redferns really live forever as Maxine toasted? Why did Magda decide to go into infomercials?
And I can't remember the other cliffhangers, since I would have been 10 when it ended, but I'm sure they were great.

I spoke too soon! Today the Guardian reports that blow-drying is coming back in a big, curly, bouncy way.
And high waists are coming back in too! So probably I'd say in two years everyone will look like a cast member of City Life. Eeek. Let's hope there will be no lip liner though.
I was imdbing the show last night to see where the people who aren't on Shorters now are, and discovered that both freaky-looking Gideon and eye-browed Angela are probably whooping it up on the comic convention circuits. Good for them!

I've often wished that TVNZ would rescreen Gloss, but the next best thing is now showing around 2.30am on weekdays - ahh City Life, how dated you look! Did we really wear that much lipstick and eyeshadow together ten years ago?
I'm surprised at just how much The Secret Life of Us totally lifted most of its characters straight from the show - I remember thinking that they were similar but didn't click that they were so the same. And it's fun playing the "spot the actors now" game with the cast.
Anyone else watching the show too?

While it pretty much goes without saying that it truly sucks that you had to say it, the "what are you going to do - tag me to death?" line is sheer genius.
