A few more trees … Cambridge Terrace, Christchurch, the other day. The setting light made the trees come alive.

Have only just caught up on this splendid post. Great pics everyone. This is a new bit of public art in Christchurch – Wood from the trees by Regan Gentry, on the High Street corner by C1Espresso.

  • Hard News: Friday Music: Why anyone does…,

    Excellence, Your Excellence!
Fonzi Thornton! I downloaded tracks purely on the basis of that name off Freegal (for Christchurch City Libraries members).

Pulp doco sounds wonderful, am such a fan. Even have Jarvis's book of lyrics.

Made in Sheffield doco is well worth a watch too.

Love hearing your stories everybody. I was raised on Young Ones milk ... The People's Poet shows how it is done. Including "raunchy" tribute to Felicity Kendall. From my 1984 copy of Bachelor Boys which has survived earthquakes and too much love. The Poetry of Rick "Have got a tin of Alphabetti Spaghetti, under bed, locked in suitcase. Remember TRUTH IN POETRY".

Loved Giovanni's post, having it here is a bonus. Beautiful shots people.

This is me and my grandad Fred. We all lived in Papatoetoe and used to spend a lot of time with Nana and Grandad. My Dad and Fred called each other Jock - they used to do bbqs and beers in their y-fronts. I remember the wee dress I am wearing; me and my sister had the same frock. I am slightly wonky - a characteristic that has stayed with me.

  • Notes & Queries: Time & Perfume, in reply to David Herkt,

Damn you must smell good! Those CBs sound intriguing. I have CB In the library which smells more of book dust than books per se. Am getting a bottle of Paperback by Demeter soon.

I like what Etat Libre D'Orange and L'Artisan do too - I have gone through my bottle of Timbuktu way too quick (supposedly for men - but pshaw to gendering perfumes).

And I think Gorilla/Lush do some amazing things. Am wearing Voice of Reason today which has a whiff of brandy.

    Viva le good pongs!
