Hard News: U: It's about the combos,
I'm pretty excited about Sommet Sports on Channel 14, which I ran across by accident the other day. Quite a nice array of sports on there!

Speaker: Music Extra: Manic Street…,
I saw them at Knebworth/Oasis. They were OK, but it wasn't really a venue where you'd have the best ever Manics experience. I'd love to see them, just them, in a more modest environment, that's for sure.

And was that a very dapper young Geoff Robinson in those earlier segments?

> Sky's broadcast was ahead of Prime's by perhaps 5 minutes
Do they do that with other supposedly live free-to-air coverage?
Sorry, I don't know. It was a crap way to find out about it though.

It was at this point that I noticed John Campbell's tweets of the scores were about three minutes ahead of the television.
Sky's broadcast was ahead of Prime's by perhaps 5 minutes, as we found out when Rebecca's Mum called her to celebrate the result, a little prematurely for us...

Alan Macdougall ran an interesting discussion of Powershop on his blog a wee while ago.
Thanks for the nod, Giovanni.
And for the record, I still haven't shifted to Powershop. :-)

Field Theory: Did you see that?,
How about those pretty fireworks? P'raps they can also sketch in a few happy smiling family members to watch from the empty seats.
Yeah, what's with that? Where are all the crowds?
Is it possible that the local population just isn't that interested? (Or maybe their interest is in other sports we're not seeing televised?)
