I'm sorry but there's no longer enough naff rawk in here. So I'm going to post this:

"I told him 'I am the flower you are the seed'
We walked in the garden we planted a tree"

    Yes indeed.

The video just sends the naffness over into infinity.

That version of 'For What It's Worth' *terrified* me as a child.

I thought I was the only one. It terrified me too. And I LOVE The Muppets.

I'm so glad someone mentioned the Cocteau Twins. Love them but so bloody hard to sing along to.

Anything with Piggy in it: instant classic. I mean, just look at that snout.

Any song which includes a spoken word interlude.
And yes, that includes Blerta's Dance All Around the World which makes me want to gouge my ears out.

The only exception to this rule is anything by the Shangri-Las, but only because they are the best pop band ever.

  • Southerly: Coming Up For Air,

Oh. I woke up this morning in my own funk about our suddenly precarious state but compared to this? Meh. We'll be fine.

As a one year old countrysider may I say the countryside is just lovely. And the sound of cows and sheep is amazingly soothing. I hope the coming months hold a minimum of fuss for you.

  • Hard News: Where are the foreigners?!, in reply to jb,

(has anyone researched year-on-year camper van rentals? )

I'd be interested too, from what we see in the regions the camper van rental companies must be having the time of their lives! Driving down Thames coast two weekends ago we passed a convoy of camper vans (heading up to Coromandel) with French flags - maybe about 15 in a row?

  • Hard News: Where are the foreigners?!,

We've definitely seen a deluge of camper vans and foreign tourists in our region (Matamata-Piako) and we noticed the same in Coromandel two weekends ago.
