Field Theory: Boos 'n' All

I disagree. It's pretty hypocritical of the Aussies to whine about people booing Cooper when their cricket team sledge at every opportunity.
But I digress, for I live in Dunedin, where tomorrow I shall have my photo taken with THE RANFURLY SHIELD !!!!

Keep up the good fight for our freedom are dwindling. As for the booing, it sounds more like mooing..

Enjoy! We still have the Super 15 trophy.

Be careful with the "we". Last time I looked Waikato shared that Super 15 trophy with a few other provinces (including the "Mighty" BOP)

As in the collective 'we'....and all done with only a sprinkling of All Blacks

But not, I fancy, the incumbent All Black No. 6 ;-)

Yes he did, but that time has passed, and so has the best part of his career. Perhaps we need to shout something different:
Good luck with that from an NZ rugby crowd. The booing is so mild and any professional sports personality should be able to cope with it fine. I've been thinking it's possibly a double bluff from the Aussies to ask for it to stop, i.e. hope it increases to spur him on. Otherwise it just seems lame for them to bring it up like it's a big deal.
At West Ham's ground, Upton Park, the atmosphere can be a tad forbidding and special treatment was always saved for traitorous local boy David Beckham. The chants were mercilous including repeated references to the adventurous sexual habits of his wife and the hope that his children would die. How did Becks react? He laughed it off and talked about how much he enjoyed playing there as the atmosphere was second to none. Paul Ince, another traitorous swine copped it in the worst way forever and took the whiner's path of requesting it to stop. That didn't work.
It's all meaningless panto but I think Beckham showed his class about it and kept it in perspective. It's just a bit of Saturday theatre after all.

Or as that monotonal virtually monosyllabic overpaid arse puts it
"We're not playing tiddlywinks. It's a man's game and I think sometimes we get a wee bit carried away."
So the measure of a "man" (in his overstuffed opinion) is an ability to play a game. Doesnt matter about the rest of his life, it seems, according to this cretin.
These people get to much of our attention and money. Find something better to do with your time. -

Keep it safe, so that your great-great-grandchildren can boast to their friends "AND IT WAS TAKEN WITH SOMETHING CALLED AN 'iPHONE'!"

I hate this attitude.
I'm a volunteer in my sport, though if I was a well-paid professional it wouldn't make a difference. This year I've worked at the top level - last weekend I was one of four officials calling the national senior final in Dunedin.
If people want to tell me that I'm blind, that I make awful calls, that I shouldn't be allowed to referee a game again, fine. There might be consequences for them if I have power over them or they might get away with it.
If they were to bring up my wife or my kids, they're likely to find the game stopped until building management turf them out of the building.
Buying a ticket to watch a game of sport doesn't give you the right to be a complete and utter fuckwit, and the sooner it's stamped out of sports the better sports will be. Sporting culture only changes when sports stand up to them.
