  • Mark Easterbrook,

I just sent Silke's song on to a German workmate.

Based on the brief summary he gave me, it is indeed very filthy if you understand German.

  • JP Hansen,

Hi Russell, hope you feel better soon.

Has your weekly Hard Word chat on bFM been dropped in the recent shakeup?

  • JP Hansen,

    Damn.

You do a similar thing on Kiwi FM, don't you? When's that usually happen?

  • recordari,

    That LCD Soundsystem is mean as. Over the past two days I've managed to put together 24 Free Download Tracks in a comp that includes;

    LCD Soundsystem x 2
    Unkle x 2
    The Ruby Suns x 3
    Dead Weather x 2
    Hot Chip x 2
    Simian Mobile Disco x 2
and Holy Ghost Say My Name.

Mostly from rcrdlbl.com, but Soundcloud also. There's no excuse for not having a good sampling of latest releases running through the mp3 player of your choosing.

    Hope you feel better.

Aw, dude. +1 on the door offered and accepted, Sam's breaking out the velvet rope so that Fiona will be guaranteed a seat so she can rest her recovering achilles -- all set, basically.

But I'd have to improve quite a lot to get there tonight.

Bugger. I used to time my Friday drive to work around this. Mikey's rejoinders were often classic.

  • Russell Brown,

Wow: David Dallas is now No.6 on the main Hype Machine "Popular" Chart.

You can give him Hypem love by clicking on the little heart icon next to the track title. It'd be great if he topped both the charts.

And I would time the kid's school run with it too. Maybe you could talk to Mikey on Friday Drive if Matt Heath doesn't want it. Even a pre-record if the timing's bad for you?

Strange Matt not having you on, considering the amount of regular talking guests he does have (that seem to take quite a long time to say not a hell of a lot).

  • Joanna,

If you were in Wellington I would make you chicken soup, but instead I will just tell you to get some Shott ginger lemon and honey syrup, and mix that with hot water and oh, I'm pretty sure you will have some whiskey in the house. That will fix you.

  • Christopher Dempsey,

Forgive me, and no dis-respect to Russell's cold, but what do people think of the scale of patronage seen here; rocking up and getting a whoppingly cool $4.8mil for ummm what again? Oh yeah some CDs and things. And flights to drop them off to the islands.

Quite. Richard Pamatatau is a very composed and professional correspondent, but he seemed to be seething about this last night.

    The connections here are:

    - Conservative churches
    - The prospective candidates Tuigamala and Jones (the latter is also on Family First's oversight board)
    - Foreign minister Murray McCully, whose approach to Pacific aid and development is not shared by most people in the sector.

  • Peter Darlington,

And thanks to Pete Darlington for the heads up on this little beauty: LCD Soundsystem cover Paperclip People's 'Throw'.

Cheers! I should just point out that LCD tip came from Jason 'J' from Bluevibe Studio who's a top chap and well worth the follow on Twitter at @bluevibestudio for any keen music Tweeps out there.

Afghan Flu, is that the crunchy chocolate kind?
I guess you'll be... Shakin' all Over.

The wonderful Wanda will be playing at the Kings Arms on the 22 June (I think I got the date right, worth checking)

  • Geoff Lealand,

Double-strength chicken soup all round, I say. Winter seems to have arrived, even though my capiscums are still thriving..

A good afternoon to listen to two new CDs (yes, I still buy 'em!): Ali Farka Toure & Toumani, and Jonsi Go.

  • George Darroch,

Since it is a Friday, and we're all in need of a post-budget laugh... I present Werner Herzog reading Where's Waldo [Wally]

  • Stephen Judd,

Make your own soup -- just the smell of it cooking will do you good. My sister insists you have to cook it for at least four hours but I reckon you can get away with two.

I'm seeing Grant Robertson all over this in the near future. Formerly worked at MFAT on aid to the Pacific.

  • James Liddell,

It will take a few days to shake out all the nasty little surprises

Like the additional $40 million loan the Auckland Transition Agency got through Vote Local Government. That's a total of c.$74 million that Auckland ratepayers have to repay the gummint.

I kinda like this move - it's endearingly similar to that scene in 'Whatever happened to Baby Jane' where what's her name beats the living shit out of her sister in the wheelchair saying that the clothes hanger is good for her. Tories and wingnuts like Wodders are soooo into S&M it's freaky.
