  • Elinor,

    I wanna be a Muppet!

    My number 1 is definitely "Singing in my Soul" ARGH I LOVE THIS SONG! So beautiful. I sang this with my sister and my (now) brothers-in-law at my brother's wedding a few years ago. Was pretty fab and wonderful.

    Number 2 “Angels” All the Pretties together on stage singing this song was my favourite part of the gig a few years ago. Such an awesome powerful sound. Only downer is the song is so short!

    Number 3“Turn it Around” Classic. Cool. ‘nough said.

    Number 4 “Clarity featuring Hollie Smith” – hadn’t actually heard this song till just now. Pretty much made number 4 ‘cause Hollie Smith is amazing.

    (NB: Number 4 would have been “Bag of Money”... but it doesn’t appear to be on the playlist. Sad!)

  • Alastair Thompson, in reply to Elinor,

    Brilliant.... you are our first entrant Elinor. And at the moment you have a 100% chance of indeed being a muppet. Is good that someone has shown the way. Now we need some fast followers.

  • Peter West,

    So is Elinor confirmed as a muppet yet? I thought it was a pretty cool prize, and would definitely have entered, if not for the fact it was in Wellington...

    (for logistical reasons, such as flights and babysitters, not due to anything personal against Wellington, I must hasten to add!)

  • Mike Smith,

    #1 : Nato's Theme - nice choppy guitar with a few woo woo woo's thrown in ...classic 1980's Kiwi feel.
    #2: Doorstep Blues - Jimmy Hendrix joins Black Sabath! 70's retro rock groove
    #3: Lie in the Land - Ginga gick rythm with Gypsy violin and a Grace Slick vocal ... post colonial optimistic angst ... lol.
    #4: You know Now - Time traveling gendre bending groove going on here ... crosses 5 decades of musicality ... very slick

  • Clare MW,

    This is very tricky 'cos there are lots good FMP songs – and some of them are not on this list! (Mainly “Bag of Money”) but it would be great to be a muppet, so I’ll give it my best shot.

    I reckon the four best are:
    • “Singing in my Soul” - I like it lots even though I didn't sing it at my brother's wedding, yet;
    • “Miracles” – Hollie Smith has a super awesome voice, and it’s just a pretty funky song;
    • “Angels” – was a really impressive moment during FMP’s “A Story” at the St James in Wellington. Also Dick Weir is awesome. I loved EARS; and
    • “Shouldn’t I know”. I used to listen to it lots, and should listen to it more now.
    I would like to be Waldorf, please.
    THANKS!
