Can I make a small plea for Mathew Ridge/Marc Ellis "slash" fiction? That is, if it hasn't been done already.

Eyespot is good for making video content, though perhaps not quite good enough for TV, it's good for slow afternoons and perhaps little hands like Leo.

I wish it were possible to go back in time about five minutes and to have not read that sentence and to not have thought the things the sentence conjured up.
Anyone wanting a unicorn chaser to rid themselves of any mental images of hot M+M action, I recommend looking at Colin the kitten on YouTube. He is a cute n crazy kitty!

Or you could read NZ Idol slash instead...

Tragically it's a protected post, but here's a teaser for:
"Jesse," Steve(n) whispered, "are you awake?"
"What's up little buddy?" asked Jesse
"Jesse, you know that website that we're not allowed to read? Why do they call you a merkin? What's a merkin?"And there's also this scorcher inspired by the last week of series one:
"Hey, Ben," Michael again said.
"Yeah?" "I was looking at the tape of the rock show and I noticed... something," Michael cautiously began.
"Yeah, yeah, I hit that bum note. Shut up," Ben retorted.
"No, no. It wasn't that. It was... in your pants. I never realised how, uh, well hung you were." Ben was silent. "I mean, I know you have a great body, but I never realised just how great it was."
"Well," Ben finally replied, "why don't you come over here and check it out in person. What kind of people write this trash?!

OK, well...
A few questions that could have been answered a while ago would help in this discussion.
Is express getting paid any money for its role in this?
How does TVNZ, or NZOA, justify putting taxpayer dollars into promoting a private business at the expense of other gay centred media?
If the show is rubbish, will express report it?
If express is rubbish will the show report it?
How does using express editorial as a 'portal' meet charter obligations?

For what it's worth, this isn't the first time that a private business has been the subject of a New Zealand reality TV show.

As Robyn has poinnted out, this is not the first time a reality TV show has given free publicity to a private company. Or even a state company - I'm sure RB can fill us in on those knobs at IRD who paid well above the going rate for a business show last year. So no, I don't think Express is contributing to the production costs.
And BTW - remember all those makeover shows that were so popular a while back? People who got their rooms redone were usually friends of the ppl making the show ...

Midland, Texas: Six months ago, and having a pretty dreadful life lesson. Poor puppy.

Sue,
with linking to colin the kitten, some of us will now demand weekly kitteh updates
-
None of the shows that received that sort of financial support and publicity were Charter ones to my knowledge Robyn, that is the difference.
It's a matter of ethical use of taxpayer funding. But then, this is TVNZ, so maybe that's a silly idea on my part.

Charter shows are hard to recognise / measure at the best of times.
Not only do we not know how much is spent on Charter programming, but we don't know how it's broken down - what it's spent on.
-
"...I may not know much about charter, but I know what I like!.."

I couldn't for the life of me source the original quote, but the above links to a Monty Python skit.

There are many examples Michael of "private" companies being "featured" in this way and this show certainly does not set any kind of a precedent - some funded under the Charter and some funded by NZOA directly.

How's daily?
Anyone else noticing YouTube behaving weirdly at the moment though? The new vid's still not showing up on Leo's channel, but it's there if you go through his account page. And the number of comments was going up and down for a while too.
Update: Yep, they've got load issues or something. Search is offline and everything.

On another television topic, has anyone been to Throng lately? I thought it was intended as a fan site, but there seems to be a lot of industry babble...

Sue,
really is it possible to have too much kitten?
i think notI might have to begin a campaign for colin to have his own public address blog.
-
merc,
Colin contributed in his own pussy POMO way, lick your paws disinterestedly for ages and observe what the human servant does to fill the existential space...
-
It's about time PA started blogging about their cats.
-
hear hear. i have 3.
best breed ever: Maine Coon. there is NO comparison.
i also have a moggy and he's great too.
also have a bengal which is great if you like a dog in a cat's body (which is as doggy as i'd ever want). -
Riddley, you have my partner's two favourite cats right there. But we can't get either because Raoul The Small And Feisty Tabby would not be happy.
-
SJ yeah well my moggy really hates the bengal, partly because they were introduced very badly (an accident involving the new arrival encountering the encumbent too early and under very inopportune circumstances), and partly because bengals are gormless and fearless in their dogginess, so don't know how to pretend to be submissive when they really ought to.
the MC on the other hand is much smarter and gets on fine with all the other cats around - like most giant breeds i guess, he is very calm and relaxed - so an MC might fit in with your existing tabby. if any cat would, the MC might, especially if introduced as a kitten. Start lobbying your partner! -
merc,
Somehow I can't see this thread thriving on Kiwiblog...
-
it might if it was about torturing your cat, or how all cats are lazy commie lesbo bludgers
