Wasn't me, I swear.

You, sir, are a first-class bloody legend.
The post is here if anyone needs illuminating.

If we're going to be mocking the denizens of Kiwiblog, the thread on impending moderation is comedy gold.
# Redbaiter Says:
September 10th, 2007 at 6:12 pm“I’m all for something that should improve the quality of the comments”
If all the insufferable self righteous and partisan bores like you stayed away it would do so immeasureably.
Redbaiter is an artist.

Doesn't your quite simply brilliant work also celebrate Anderton evidence based policy?
Shit he's bringing science into policy.
Those possum testical burning Greens wouldn't do that now would they.
On the drugs v alky debate. We know the impact of alky but drugs are every evolving, the potency of weed etc.
Alky has its potency clearly labelled & drugs don't so there is a higher inherent risk with drugs.
I'll start listening once there is a similar potency measure for Party Pills, Weed etc posted on the side of the packaging.
Of course sometimes it's not what you do but the way you do it - I'll never snort rum again and the days of my 30 sec jug skull through a straw are over as well.

and the days of my 30 sec jug skull through a straw are over as well.
My goodness, I thought I'd seen it all, but clearly not.

He is. His art is timewasting. I'm actually surprised he's died down in the end. He must have clicked to my deeper game of wasting the timewaster's time. I was reinstalling software, running long compiles and playing civilization at the same time, so the portion of my time he got didn't stop anything important.
-
Probably not Ben, his job entails a lot of time out of the office
Smirk.
-
Hmm... not enough words to make sense... I do that - probably not died down.

Er, but wasn't that exactly the point of the Social Tonics Association? [And lets take a moment to giggle at that name]. They are all in favour of regulation and labeling the BZP content. Like alcohol, party pills is a profitable business, and they don't want to kill their customers.
Anderton's position seems to be 'it's too late to shut the barn door on Alcohol, but we've still got time with Party Pills'. He may be right, but it alienates young people who like party pills, and consider the distinction hypocritical.
Whilst there's more money in P, I don't doubt that the dealers are stockpiling BZP based pills for sale (at inflated prices) after they become illegal. And I bet those pills will have 1000mgs of BZP.
I can't help feeling it 'Alcohol Prohibition' all over again, and it might be better to tax and regulate, rather than ban.
-
Is that code for unemployed? Not at all surprised.
-
"I'll start listening once there is a similar potency measure for Party Pills, Weed etc posted on the side of the packaging."
There is, its the mg of active ingredient per pill.
-
Social Tonics Ass. need to put up first. Like any 'medicine' do the research, have your standards then go to the market.

Yeah, I see your point. But I want a totally private health care system if we go down that path. I'll open a Mother Teresa hospice to look after the dead & dying.
The Brits pumping Opium into China for 100yrs or so is how they got HKG & Shanghai. A stoned population can't function let alone fight back. Prohibition has its up sides too.
On drugs & fair trade - I want Afganistan to supply the world with legal opium. It's their cash crop already, pay a fair price and production will be able to be reduced for the same or better reward. I think that would impact Tasmania though - oh dear how sad.
-
MikeE is that miligram or magnesium? Sorry dude you'll have to spell it out for me.

Redbaiter is an artist.
As trolling goes, his work did take on a more and more heroic quality as the thread went on. Perhaps just because iot was all collected in one place.
Also, the complete Dean-Anderton DHMO letters are on Scoop.

I think he has one of his more lucid friends step in when the going gets tough.
-
Michael, depends on what the legal opium is used for. Some support the licensing of Afghan opium production for medical use (i.e. morphine), others say use it for heroin prescribing. A nice editorial here:

Also in today's news,
Ahmed Zaoui's security risk certificate has been lifted.
-
I think the revelation that our chum RB has ambitions to be elected to a position is what makes him even more amusing.
'Vote for me brainwashed lemmings,' what a slogan!
-
Ohhh, I had to read back there - you're talking about RedBaiter, not Russell Brown...
-
Cheers Ross
I'ld back that proposal it seems to fit the bill for harm reduction.Zaoui - Good News, but does it mean he'll get refugee status & Residency?
