  • Rich of Observationz, in reply to Steve Barnes,

No, it had a special statute that overrode existing legislation (and the wishes of the Auklanders). Mind you, they kinda signed up for it by voting NACT.

  • Steve Barnes,

    Dotcom judge quits the case

Judge David Harvey surrendered his role in the case after making comments during a copyright discussion at an internet conference.

I don't like the look of this, I can't see Judge Harvey waking up in the morning and saying "I shouldn't have said that, I will stand down"
Considering he was considered the right gut for the job...

An internet law expert, Judge Harvey had been considered the perfect choice to hear arguments on whether Dotcom and his Megaupload colleagues should be extradited by the United States

Did he jump or was he pushed?.

  • Geoff Lealand,

Difficult to know. It may just be a tale of caution about posting Twitter messages in the public domain, or it could be a story about unusual political pressure, Whatever the reasons, it is a loss for a very important legal case. Judge Harvey is one smart manl
