Much like the travel convention afterparty in Suite thereafter..

Was a fabulous, fabulous night. Gobsmacked that Mr Slack managed to post anything today.
-
There's more where that came from, my dear.
-
Should have known he was taking notes. :)
-
Just echoing the grats for a wonderful event.
Someone asked me what the format was for these things - LOL.
And I too sat there thinking "it's T2!!!!" call themselves geeks pfft.
Sorry I couldn't stay later but it was a school night after all. Maybe next time I'll have the courage to introduce myself to Emma, but really she was so scary up there :P.

No you're not. Did you make it home safely? I guess you left te chch weather behind though. Was good to meet you and sorry for the tardiness on bidding you adieu. My head had not recovered from Kingsland the night before but promise will make a better effort on the next collision. :)

I was just taking the piss, seriously you were mobbed and I did need to go home :)
-
It was an excellent evening but I had to get back home before the stroke of midnight or I would turn into a geek. One of these days I hope to meet more people ftf.
I drove up from Hamilton in the afternoon, to catch a screening of "Trouble is My Business" at the Academy. It is tremendous--if you haven't seen it yet, you ought to. There is much praise for recent docos on the French education system (the Class etc) but I think we have a great New Zealand equivalent.

damn!
-
Geoff - thanks so much for your spare ticket. Although can I be very egotistical and say that when we turned up at the door, and I said my name, she didn't even look, just said "Oh yes, you're on here somewhere". I felt a wee bit special for about two seconds. Anyway, why didn't you come and say hello?

No, you are not. I wasn't going to out you, but I think I will anyway. You are, quite possibly, one of the sweetest people I have ever met. And, as the actress said to the bishop, I've met a few.
-
I thought we settled on overly empathic.
-
Alright, quit talking about me in front of my front...
-
It's a substitute for tweeting.

Sorry, it was dark and crowded in there and I get a bit shy in such circumstances. Maybe we need a social facilitator. Next time, eh?
-
On a geekier than geek note, my night elf warrior has just aced the Deadmines Dungeon - solo.
-
Maybe we need a social facilitator.
The nametags at the 'social' Russell organised a couple of months ago worked quite well, although they were a bit embarrassing to wear.
-
On a somewhat unrelated note, has anyone seen the video clip that Russell showed us yet, the "fuck you very much" one? I can't find it on youtube.....
-
My favourite version of the clip
From Russell's original post, where all the embeds still seem to be working.
-
there's been a kiwi one made, giovanni - russell showed it to us the other night, tantalised us with "it will be online in the next couple of days" sort of thing, and then...............nada. He's such a big tease.
-
Ah, sorry.

Am not!
Anne has decided to make a few more tweaks, including mixing in some of the audio they got from the crowd at the Naval & Family near the end of the clip -- they were all singing lustily along, so why not hear them?
I'll be sure to let you know.
-
Thank god the bar at Blend wasn't mic'ed up.
-
Thanks Russell - I'm really looking forward to seeing it again. My friend Steven Oates is in it, and I saw a few other familiar faces. So okay, you aren't a big tease.
