EVP Reverse Speaking's Peggy Kane on Afghanistan:
Think of the Earth as a gigantic movie set. The directors of the movie, the reptilians, had and to a small extent, still have, the most sophisticated technologies we could ever imagine to create the great movie here. The people of Earth are the players, but don’t know this. They think the movie is real. Everyone is in the show except for a few people who figured it out. Those people are of course, ridiculed for being nutty.
In order to keep the players from knowing that they are in the movie, great care is taken to keep the entities behind the curtain, secret. So they operated behind the scenes, in the astral world. The main action though, is in front of the camera where the wizardry is mind-boggling.
The directors can flip the action forward and into the past. They can stop action, take out players and replace them with their clones and then once everyone is in place, the action continues. No one misses a beat.
The scenes can change, the landscape, the time periods, but the players aren’t allowed to notice or remember any of this. They just play their parts.
If the directors want, they can insert a video from the past onto our TV sets, and everyone watching this little part of the play will think it’s happening right now and it’s real. The players too will be convinced of the reality of the whole show. If someone in this play, figures out too much, the action is stopped, and his cloned replacement inserted. The replacement will undoubtedly be less perceptive.
The show continues.
There was nothing of this in Mike McRoberts' TV3 Kabul jaunt, nor on the recent Media7 show. Why? I think we should be told.

Knew I should have taken the red pill.

Reminds me of Dark City They just want to learn what it's like to be human. So far it's mega fail.

I do love the 'I'm not a Conspiracy Theorist, but...' routine. Just like the 'I'm not a racist, but...' starter to any sentence, you know what is going to come next will prove otherwise.

J W,
Wow you guys feel so strongly opposed, interesting.

This person is using valuable oxygen that could be used for... fluffy bunnies or something.
She knows the Truman Show wasn't real right?
-
Strongly amused.
-
Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence, J W. A lot of the EVP phenomena has been shown to be a psychological artefact on the part of the listener (I'm saying 'a lot' here to be generous/charitable; I've seen no evidence to suggest that there is, actually, uncontroversial evidence of EVP) and thus something that is read into the noise rather than read out of it.

That's right folks -- the fact that you find something particularly ridiculous is proof that it's true!
-
J W,
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. --Arthur Schopenhauer
-
J W,
When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic.-- Dresden James
-
Does Schopenhauer say anything about the stages of bullshit?
Incidentally (paging Emma Hart, paging Emma Hart) Schopenhauer wrote in 1830 a treatise on the art of trolling and of winning conversations that puts derailing for dummies to considerable shame. It ought to be read and discussed more.

As I write this, I can see a plate on my desk.
Ridicule or violently oppose that. I dare you. It's true though.
-
Ah, but, J W, whilst that may be true for propositional truths, it does not entail that beliefs that are ridiculed are true. Only a small subset of ridiculed beliefs will end up being vindicated.
-

Indeed. The syllogism is:
All (important, world-changing) truth is (initially) ridiculed.
This belief is ridiculed.
Therefore, this belief is (important, world-changing) truth. QED.Or, to put it in another way:
p, therefore q.
q.
Therefore, p. QED. -
Ah, Affirming the Consequent, the fallacy of choice for cranks everywhere.

I love it that these things all have names.

J W, a question for you.
If we're all being manipulated in the manner outlined above - we're all in a giant movie, and those manipulating us have these amazing powers - powers to manipulate reality in ways we can barely begin to comprehend....
...How is it that The Great Celestial Editor didn't leave you on the cutting room floor?
Not meaning to be insulting or anything, but if THEY are so powerful, why bother leaving you around?
...If someone in this play, figures out too much, the action is stopped, and his cloned replacement inserted. The replacement will undoubtedly be less perceptive.
...And since you seem to have figured all this out, how come you haven't been replaced by your less perceptive clone? Or perhaps you have?
-
I perceive that I am my less perceptive clone.

In much the same way that
The Gnostics believed that our world was fundamentally evil, created by an evil god. The good god was utterly outside this world; only the gnostic elect had the divine spark—the knowledge (gnosis)—that enabled them to strike through the mask of evil and attain salvation in the realm beyond the world.
Paranoid belief systems like the one behind EVP is just Gnosticism by another name; ditto, the simulation argument. Only now it has science fiction bells and whistles. And if it all sounds like something that Philip K Dick might have come up with at his most paranoid, no surprise -- he was hugely Gnostic-inflluenced. JW and his or her pals are in the position of the Gnostic elect.

Do I get to plug Erik Davis' new book twice in the same thread? Joy!
-
There's a good MP3 primer on Gnosticism on Erik Davis' Techgnosis site at the moment too. (Backstory: Davis did his PhD -- I think -- on Gnosticism in the work of Philip K Dick. He also wrote a great book about the fourth Led Zeppelin album but that's for another thread.)

J W,
Not as paranoid as the Patriot Act and related draconian laws rushed thru with no public submission.
