It’s a shame that these kind of stories are so evocative of the New Zealand experience for some Jacqui.
Taane was arrested at Illuminati nightclub in Tauranga earlier this month where he was handcuffed and charged with disorderly behaviour after singing NWA’s song F**k the Police.
He relayed his version of events to the crowd, claiming police had it in for him and suggested the incident had made him consider leaving New Zealand.
"If that's how it is, I don't know if I want to live in this country any more."
The 34-year-old also slated Tauranga MP Simon Bridges, who had labelled the singer a disgrace.

Of course, none of us was Maori on the occasion I'm talking about. And we were all female.
I know from the experiences of two of my brothers, that in those days (and I am talking quite a long time ago now) being male and a bit of a smart mouth was always going to be a problem. Highly intelligent, mouthy young "louts" (long hair, jeans, etc) could be made to toe the line, or face consequences. It was a bad time for my mother - she was bringing the tribe up alone. She got to dread the knock on the door in the middle of the night.

Speaking of "Six Months in a Leaky Boat" - it's what they played to me on hold when I was waiting to talk to NZ Post's parcel service recently - where's that fedex number ....

Stop Press: All charges against Tiki Taane have been dropped.
So the whole thing, it seems, was filed out of spite.
