  • Andrew Feltoe,

Can't believe it, my hairdresser knew before I did. At 1:30pm. How the hell?!

  • David Slack,

my hairdresser knew before I did.

The usual advice is: sell your stocks!

The fact that people are so interested tells you something about the potency of his polling power.

  • Che Tibby,

are you suggesting he'd been polling hairdressers?

  • Andre Alessi,

There was a great shout from the workstation behind me that Lo! The Don was gone. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and mine ears were filled with the lamentations of women.

Yeah, I've had that going through my head since she posted it.

    Damn earworms.

  • Michael Hogan,

I am not sure whether I am more surprised it has taken so long, or that they put him there in the first place. A brown-suit-brigade bureaucrat if ever there was one, it has been one gaffe after another for years.

Hardly a recipe for success in politics.

He may well have been put out of his misery, but the Nats have some real selling to do now, if anyone will take the party seriously.

  • Andrew Feltoe,

Michael, you realise that National's ahead on the polls. Granted, I reckon they need a lot of work, and I thoroughly enjoyed Brash's antics (the walking the plank, the EB, the iwi/kiwi election posters), but somehow the good people who make these stats make it out that our elusive 'average kiwi' supports National more than Labour.

  • Emma Hart,

I was out in the garden listening to the Ashes (for work, you understand), and Darcy on Sports Radio was saying how they weren't going to have any news headlines because the Ashes was on and nobody cared. "Too bloody right," I said to my aquilegias.

It was half three before I found out.

OTOH, my partner found out at half four when he wanted a page with really awful HTML to test a new application with. That would have been No Right Turn...

I/S, it's true. Your words are gold but the page is a shocker to load.

  • Che Tibby,

  • Compie,

Speaking of loading, what the hell is up with unbundled broadband, Otago has slowed to a crawl, but I know bugger all about that sort of thing. Some say it's related some say no, but home has slowed.

I've always like I/S, bit bloody depressing the Iraq Body Count.

Regarding the hairdresser I suspect he/she listens to a TRN station. ZB had it in their 1 pm bulletin just before the press conference started.

    Compie:

Believe me Wellington has slowed to a crawl too, since yesterday it is taking minutes for pages to load. I spoke to them this am and they got me to delete my cookies etc. I mean do they think we are all bloody morons! Unbundled is crap!
