  • Hard News: A Work of Advocacy, in reply to Ian Dalziel,

Sobering the tone a bit – because it’s Good Friday and very nearly Anzac Day

Blow. Can’t make it come up with a picture. What am I doing wrong? ETA: MAGIC!!!!
Anyway, this piece of music was inspired by something scrawled on a Gestapo cell by an eighteen year-old female prisoner. “Oh mother, do not weep. The Queen of Heaven protects me.”
Regardless of whether or not you believe in “heaven” and the protection of those who might inhabit it, I’d be surprised if you didn’t find this undeniably moving.

Hadyn, are you still doing the "if I watch this, they'll lose" thing?

  • Hard News: The file-sharing bill, in reply to 3410,

Yes, it would be worse law, but not “due to [Labour] voting against it”; due to National introducing it and garnering enough support to have it passed.

    + 1
I really don't understand what the problem is with calling a spade a spade. I get the feeling Labour isn't telling anyone the whole truth. What are they concealing? In the absence of an explanation of why they voted for it, which would satisfy those who think this law is a horror bound to be repealed, imaginations conjure up all sorts of ideas. I just wish I had seen something that convinced me there wasn't some skulduggery going on.

  • Muse: Hey Greg O'Connor, Krup You!,

Many, many years ago, three St Mary's Old Girls (I was one of them) were standing on the side of the footpath in Willis St one Friday night, talking excitedly, which one did when seeing old school mates - we hadn't long been out of school uniform, and seeing one another in mufti was just too exciting for words.

Imagine our utter surprise (and delight) when a constable, probably not much older than we were, told us to move on. We laughed. He got very shitty and threatening. We moved on....

Let's face it, making something visual out of something literary means basically taking the bare bones and making something brand new.

That’d be WordPress, I think. It loves you and wants you to have your very own WordPress site

Ho-kay. As long as it doesn't die of neglect....

  • Up Front: Fairy-Tale Autopsies,

Oh no! I got lost! Do I want a blog for myself? No - don't. So why, when I went to register to be a strop, was that the first question? ( I'm pretending I don't know what to do. I'm very savvy about the internet, like Katrina, don't you know? Not.)
