Islander, it was hiding from 30 shrieking pre-schoolers. And because my camera is a fluffometre... ducklings.

I am anthropomorphising here but how would that go down in the human world ?

My first thought Richard was Brynne Edelsten... and then I remembered these are male birds... so any chap driving an Italian sports car, in yellow, red or orange. but maybe all flash cars are our peacock display...

    Sophie, your puppies are gorgeous.

  • Capture: City Scenes, in reply to JacksonP,

I actually jumped back from the screen just then. Thanks for that. ;-)

Sorry. Be grateful for the screen. That's the first one we've found. Captured it for venom milking - it was all jumpy, fangy and what you looking at? Scary as.

It's so great you're getting into this PA thing by the way.

You invited me over and I've taken the comfy chair and helped myself to the fridge, I know. It's the combination of words and pictures, the stories, the snaps, the witty, the pithy, the poetry. The irreverence and the irrelevance, the tangential and the sublime. Something very fresh here, in terms of visual writing and graphic storytelling. And of course, I have time on my hands at the moment.

Jumping spiders cute. Funnelwebs not so much.

I don't have a best photo of the year (still time, right?) so I am posting one of the few images I have that makes me laugh out loud, in keeping with Doug's great photos. This is from an anti-nuclear protest in London in 1996. Scanner a bit dodgy.

Jackson, that is not a spider. This is a spider!

  • Capture: City Scenes,

So glad I was empty handed when I fired up the screen... that is coffee on the keyboard quality, that first pic! all of them fuse that perfect moment in time... the funny one.

  • Capture: Colour is the new black, in reply to Jackie Clark,

Thanks for the invite Jackie. Maybe I can coincide a trip across the ditch one day. And your comment about the West Coast being spooky... My ancestors from Prussia thought they were on a boat heading to America, but they were swindled and arrived at Greymouth. Mutiny and refusal to get off the boat and they were transported to Taranaki instead. Must have been the spookiness they could see. I recognised it when I made my own excursion down that way.

And Sophie, I've realised most galleries let the photos speak for themselves, and well, they kinda mumble or speak in tongues. Here the words are mighty fine.
