The final score was 101-14, but on the Dropkicks alternative score board it was Samoa 39, Māori 15, Australia 5, Everyone else 56 (which was decided upon after Muliaina's opening try when the commentators predictably yelled "born in Samoa!")
My reaction to the commentators at that point was along the lines of "so our Samoans are better than their Samoans?"

He (Clydesdale) will be an interview guest on Kim Hill's Saturday morning show (National Radio) tomorrow. A pity he didn't appear on Media7 as well.

I've also negotiated permission for the Newsmash section to be made available
Great to see! I'd wondered about its omission and guessed it was the copyright thing. A pity the segments (i.e. programme) on interviewing were not longer. It looks like it could easily have gone on in an informative way (no, not blaming anyone - constraints of half hour and all that - just a pity is all).
The first thing I thought upon hearing Sean Plunket and Amanda Millar talking about how they were not selling out by doing media training was that well, maybe/maybe not, but surely fronting an ad for a political party in election year (as Millar did) would have qualified? But it was not mentioned. Perhaps a wee while ago now. Was there ever an explanation for that about why she did it (just curious)?

Oh and isn't it weird seeing dirty ole Calamity Jane from Deadwood being the bosscop in "Life" ... that show is growing on me mostly due to gingergod Damian Lewis and offsider Alan Arkin.
Something of a Deadwood recycle going on in "Life" - Lewis's/Crews's former cop partner was running for sheriff against Bullock in Season 3 of Deadwood, William (E. B. Farnum) Sanderson was a homeless guy a few episodes ago, Garret Dillahunt (Deadwood's Jack McCall and "Mr W") was a Russian mobster. Not that I'm complaining.

Unfortunately, getting an early R4 release means it lacks all of the special features that the season 3 set gets in the US. The one time they don't screw us on waiting time, they screw us on content...
True enough. The Deadwood DVDs (well, Season 3 at least) were released here about the same time as in the US, but missing special features. I withstood the extreme temptation to get the BSG season 3 DVDs here to await the US release (March 18), for which I'll be paying the same or slightly less as I would've for Region 4, but getting the special features. Sometimes it is worth waiting...

I went to Taronga Zoo in Sydney and spent some time watching seals. Eventually I looked at the notice for the animals and discovered I'd gone all the way to Oz before I had seen my first NZ fur seal in person. Somehow I had never seen one at home. Which is possibly quite sad.

Carmen's dead, baby. Carmen's dead.
But perhaps she has a twin sister or a doppelganger cousin...
Well, it worked for the Neilson family on that show I recall...

Just wondered. I had a change of plans and can no longer go to the Blend in Auckland (v. sad), and thought as I'd received a confirmation I should make an "un-RSVP", or change it to a "no" but don't know how? Or if I need to? I thought I should do so as a courtesy...Thanks.

Really trying not to see anything on the interweb that will spoil the end of The Sopranos
Hmmmm. TV1 and others might not be happy - neither am I - when I happened across an article in the NZ Herald Online this week about the US political campaign which I dutifully read - but right at the end of the article it managed to include what happens in the last scene of the last episode of the Sopranos!!! I presume it was overseas copy but couldn't the Herald have edited that last bit out? Sheesh.
