go beat 'ambidextrously' - please
But not in a spa room or a railway station :-)
Innocent (?) comment by prizewinning author leads into superb double entendre: it's another PAS Magic Moment.

Not for all crims, though...
At first I was like "Que?", but then... Well played!

Oh, you rockists! <shakes fist>
Hey, not guilty I say! I listen to a whole bunch of stuff, and love a good pop song as much as anyone (and rock features a lot less in my musical tastes than was once the case).
It's not that I think pop is a lousy artform that can't aspire to more than bubblegum, it's just that I find Lily Allen's stuff to be adequate entertaining pop, rather than genuinely standout, that's all.
-
I wouldn't go out of my way to hear Lily Allen's new stuff either, but what I have bumped into by chance has been okay as pop goes.
The day when Katy Perry vanishes from the ether, on the other hand, will be a blessed relief.

I can't really see him jumping all over our airwaves. He's got to run out of bullshit and retire sooner or later.
Unlikely - somehow NZ media keeps on wringing stale strangled brainfarts out of far less energetic windbags than Rush. If he moves here he'll probably still be on the air when we're all dead.
-
Wow. We're going to need #@$%ing tough turbines, Sacha... or some really good safety valves.

Looks like Russell has nailed the colours to the mast(head)...

I thought the hallmark of a civilized society, operating under the rule of law, is that we punish the minority of people who don't mitigate or repress their "brutal and heartless feelings" into socially acceptable channels?
One of the keynotes of the Sensible Sentencing mindset, as far as I can tell, is that there's no sense that ordinary people might be led to commit crimes - there is ordinary Us, and there is criminal Them, and They are the ones we should defend ourselves against.
Obviously this boundary makes fuck-all sense, but it appeals to a lot of people, and McVicar is always available to pop up in the media and pass judgment on who is or isn't entitled to stab someone to death.

I'm aesthetically "brutalised" every time I look out of my living room window, only to have my eyeballs molested by the arse-ugly Sky Phallus. Can I go murder architect Gordon Moller now? Please...
Rereading the letter, the author referred to Pihema's mother calling the killing "brutal and heartless" and responded: "How many people have had brutal and heartless feelings upon seeing her son's tag sprayed on their wall?" Revealing slip in grammar, IMO. Thank God we at least have Garth McVicar to defend those who act on their brutal and heartless impulses, amirite?

What a hassle. If only there was a way to conveniently deduct money straight from one's paycheck to pay for roads and other infrastructure needs. Providers of multiple infrastructure services could then pool this "Prepaid Automatic Yearly Expenses" money, and then fund maintenance or extension of services as required.
I think this is a winner, as long as the Government doesn't adopt the idea and start pinching our money to pay for collective needs. That would really be through the looking glass.
