The Prime All Blacks game coverage was on Saturday night. 10:30pm - 1:10am.
Thanks JP, that's what I thought. Growing the game by playing the free-to-air match replay at a time when most kids are asleep.

Whoa, got some catching up to do:
Hadyn, can I ask what it is/was about Herr Schumacher that excites you more than Hamilton?
He was the greatest driver of all time (in my opinion) and cool clinical - to the point of robotism - attitude. My favourite moment was in his final year when he had just beaten Alonso and was (maybe) a point or two behind him in the overall standings. At the press conference Schumacher said with the tiniest of smiles: "Looks like it will be an interesting season". It was like cheering for the bad guy who always wins.
Hamilton seems a little whiny to be someone I could follow.

Where were you when the IPL was on?
See I thought that was all about "politics". Sort of a "how dare you try and set up a cricket league without our permission" thing. But I didn't think there was any hatred of the actual format.

Ah, but you don't have the stump mike dialog:
Heh heh, "stump mike"

I did discover that there is a lot of hatred out there for 20/20 and that Stanford is not doing a lot to help it. Also the English papers HATE him will all the bile they can muster (and English papers have a lot of bile).

Oh are we talking political junk mail? (__can't be bothered going back over the last few pages__)
Because today when I got home in my "no junk mail" letterbox there were three political pamphlets, a harcourts ad, and two religious pamphlets. Christians are as bad as the rest.

Alternatively: how about spending ten dollars in sweets and five seconds each with your kids' neighbours per year, you tight-arse philistines?
I'm with you Giovanni. It can also be a nice way to meet the neighbours or like Jackie create a little community spirit.
Admittedly some kids just don't get it: the rules are, dress up in (good) costumes and get lollies. Not, just show up and get lollies.

We had one group of 4 14-15 year girls who between them had managed to muster up a beret, a set of fairy wings and (I think) some bunny ears. I told them to go away
My dad rang this morning and told me how my step-sister went to a Halloween party with a bunch of other young teen girls (13-14) and how a few of the girls were dressed as Playboy bunnies with fishnets and skimpy outfits. Haven't they seen Mean Girls?!

And there was that gymnast in Beijing that they specifically avoided asking about her age.
You mean the one that was cleared of being too young?

PS: Some applause, please for the New Zealand U17 women's football team, who have participated in two wonderfully watchable matches in the past week. They lost both, ending any hope of advancing in the tournament,...
While they can't continue, they aren't finished yet. There is still one last game against Colombia tomorrow night at the Caketin
