Does anyone know if the live Daily Show coverage is going to be screened here? C4?
-
CNN has reporters in France and Kenya and behind the scene coverage of... the CNN election coverage. This is fun.
-
McCain is giving his big Colorado stump speech on CNN at the moment. His 92yr old mother is there! And she looks more mobile than him.
And that Palin poster is awesome!
-
Thanks! I was quite proud of it

Also dressing up for Halloween...totally fun!

There's a small mound of goat skulls at the bottom of my garden that would beg to differ.
So you're saying you're a socialist?

It's just people being people. It had nothing to do with the Poms getting thumped by a made up team of "Stars". (I suppose conspiracy theorists would probably say that Stanford was trying to distract the Poms so his team would win)
I think we're saying the same thing. I was trying to say that the players had to make the first move on it.
If they were pissed off that Stanford was "macking" on their lady-friends then they should've said so, and then there would've been a story for the media: "Players tell Stanford to keep his eyes on the pitch" (or something). If not then the whole thing is a media beat-up, as you say.
You’ll find one major difference from Indecent Proposal here:
All the pop-ups? What's going on in that video?

Reminds me of 'Indecent Proposal.'
"How much for one weekend with your cricket team?"

If I knew how to embed vids I would. There is no outward sign of coercion whatsoever.
I think you just paste the youtube url
In many sports, the players would have stopped playing, grabbed their bat, and marched up into the stands to teach him a lesson.
I quite agree. That would also be the situation in many bars and nightclubs.

Why does there have to be a villain? Pretty girls flirting with rich guys is a well understood phenomenon. (and a good reason for getting yourself filthy rich)
It's not as if he gave her a good seeing to right there in the stands, is it?
Couldn’t agree more actually. I was staggered at the way the UK media in unison came out in such self-important moral outrage about the whole thing. I mean, Texas Billionaire with a penchant for getting his name across everything. What were they expecting exactly?
Sorry, merged two quotes there.
For me the problem was as a player on the field I would be understandably distracted if my other half was sitting on the lap of the guy paying me money to dance for his amusement. Stanford should've been blown up, but it should mainly have come from the players and then the media.
