Viagra comes in cans from the dairy, now?
Go long, with Extenze. I do!

Rich, I had no idea what your point was either - it basically seemed like rain-on-your-parade-ism - so I don't think that was meant to be a 'passive-aggressive bullying tactic' on Russell's part.
Not everyone is drinking the feelgood Kool-Aid.
Hardly anyone is, apparently. I'd love to be able to myself, but I seem to have had my martini glass blocked by a giant wagging finger.

Yes, I’m kind of bemused at the sour-puss-ness surrounding the impending RWC.
I am actually dreading the whole thing, and I *like* rugby. For some reason I just can't bear the thought of my small but perfectly formed collection of holier-than-thou friends rabbiting on about how much they hope New Zealand loses and how stupid everyone is for caring. I think I might have to hide myself in a bunker for the duration. (Or go down to the dairy and buy a can of Harden Up. If they sell it in the massive quantities required, that is.)

some hypocrite on the other side of the planet catching a bit of karma
What a deeply callous remark. (And the others killed, including that poor nine-year-old girl - just collateral damage, were they?)

(Rugby is a minority sport in all of the countries that play it except NZ and the Pacific Islands. Outside those countries, it’s a completely marginal sport).
We know. It's still OK for people to enjoy something which isn't popular worldwide, I take it?
Speaking of Once Were Warriors, an American friend of mine recently saw it for the first time and thought it was melodramatic, overwrought, and cheesy! I was all 'but... but...' and then I thought 'hmmm, yes, perhaps the suicide scene was a bit much...' Then I felt guilty for being disloyal and mentally sang a rousing round of 'What's The Time Mr Wolf?' This cultural nationalism lark is very fraught on occasion.

He needs to lighten up.
I wonder whether he means mood or melanin? With Holmes it's so hard to tell.

I am wimpishly not even in the cold bit at all! But yesterday I was in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and the breeze was a bit nippy... ahem. I will shut up now. But would rather like a Neenish tart.

Lucy, I feel your pain. I have been in the US 3.5 days and have already let out far too many unwitting "Jesus Christ that wind is cold"s for anyone's liking. (Plus, Americans think you are nuts if you walk around hotels in bare feet or collect continental breakfast from the lobby in your pyjamas and dressing gown. For someone with a US passport I have pretty much failed at Blending In Seamlessly so far, let me tell you.)

or an assortment of people calling someone who has yet to have a day in court a rapist
I challenge you to find someone in this thread who's done that. Just one. Go on.

Hard News: Wikileaks: The Cable Guys, in reply to
I actually think that’s a bit unfair, you guys. I am really interested in the Wikileaks, um, leaks but when it comes to international diplomacy and governmental skullduggery I wouldn’t know beans from a hole in the ground, so all I can do is read the people who know more than me and react with a variant of ‘huh. Interesting. Let me think about that for a while’. Plus it is reasonably simple to instantly have an opinion about people’s sex lives, what constitutes ‘consent’, yadda. So it’s a lot easier for people to waffle on about that, in lieu of saying nothing about any of it and thus giving the impression that you don’t give a shit. When you do.
(Did I just make an argument in favour of the increase of useless noise in a thread? Man, I did. Sorry about that.)
ETA: I see that Tim's all 'be the change you want to see in the world/thread', and I can also totally get behind that!
