I see what you did there
I'm all about the unintentional hilarity, doncha know?

Right time to head to the Caketin to watch some cricket and get well and truly aerated by this damn northerly.
I just popped out, and the sun is trying to shine, so if the win dies down...
yep, no, good luck with that.

wasn't Lancaster just another conniving squatocrat?
You know, that may be a fair point. I don't know that I even know who Lancaster was.
-
After about the third Mexican wave, stop joining in, and start covering your head with your arms to protect it from the beer.
At least at the Caketin, they aren't throwing anything else in the air, unlike when I was regularly attending rugby games at Lancaster Park*.
*And no, I will never call it anything else.

What do you think about the Christchurch Cougars then?
That it's a stupid name, but it is still better than the Tactix
I despair of my home province, and its ability to name things.
The thing is, basketball in Canterbury always seemed to be able to pull in enough people, and I'm sad the Rams are gone (I used to know one of the guys in the Ram suit).
Cantabrians seem to have become apathetic about actually attending sport (even All Black tests) and sports teams need people through the door to survive.
Incidentally, I was at that Saints/Waikato final last year, and what with the packed stadium, and the loud crowd (i could have lived without the cowbells) and the excitement, it was like basketball in the old days. I don't know how you translate that down South, but someone needs to.

Nope, you stick with them for that rare moment, when you least expect it, that they actually pick their sorry arses up and roll one of the big boys.
I've been supporting Canterbury Basketball for nearly 30 years (so, um, longer than I've been alive, you realise). When I was a kid, it was the halcyon days if Clyde "the glide" Huntley and John "Dutchie" Rademakers. (and John Hill, and Gilbert Gordon and Terry Brunel)
They haven't won a championship since 1992, and yet, when I last went to a game, they beat Waikato, and that was HUGE!
It's one of the reasons I am so excited about the Breakers' season. It's been hard going as a fan, but it is starting to turn around. Woot!
And Hadyn, you don't need my advice, and Emma's already given it, but wrap up warm, and make Dom get the beers in.

OMG, I must be inter-sexed.
I suspect so is he.

I'm confused.....

Oh and anyone who can't get into American football is welcome to watch the Superbowl with me. Megan (of the Dropkicks) did last year and is now a convert.
Well, yeah, except that when I sat down to watch a game without the influence of you and beer, I was hopelessly lost. I expect I will join you for the superbowl again though. Especially since 'my' Chargers could still be there. Right?
Oh, and Hadyn, draws in ODIs are pretty rare. Prepare yourself for a loss.
